-- Y/N's POV --
- charms class -

Flitwick is rambling about some spell and the class is all half-asleep. I haven't listened to a word he's said this whole lesson and I'm pretty sure no one else has. Me and the twins want to get out of here. We've got pranks to plan.

I sit, staring mindlessly at my watch. Watching the hands tick as if time as slowed down. I'm actually losing my mind. I glance over at the twins. Both with their heads in their hands. George looks like he's zoned out, probably thinking about something stupid. It's times like this I kind of wish I could read minds. But Fred is just staring at me. I wave at him to get him out of his trance. He waves back, sort of shy. It's cute.

I turn back to the front of the class, zoning out.

Where did Flitwick get all those books from?

How long until lunch?

I really just want to walk out of here.

I'd probably get detention with Snape again. Do not want that torture today.

After what feels like forever, the lesson is finally over and I go with the twins to the library.

We study a bit but end up just messing around. After being told to shut up several times, we finally do and finish some more work.

-- Fred's POV --

I'm actually glad we're friends again. George was right, she is not like her father.

'I should go back to my dorm.' Y/N says, standing up, packing up her parchment.

'Yeah, alright.' George agrees. 'See ya tomorrow.'

'Night guys. Night Lee.'

She leaves the library, turning around before she leaves giving me a small wave and leaves the three of us in silence.

'Hey Fred. Do you still like Y/N?'

I stare at him for a second. I don't know how to reply to be honest.

Of course I do. I know that when we found out about her dad, that it made things different, but that didn't stop me from fancying her. Every day we didn't talk to her felt strange. Sounds cliché but without talking to her it felt like something was missing. I'm just glad George got us talking again. What would I do without him?

'Um... does that really matter right now? I just wanna go to sleep. I'm so tired of studying.' I say, hoping to change the subject. Plus I'm pretty sure there's still other people around in the library.

Whatever. I go back to writing, secretly hoping we're leaving soon when George pipes up, 'Are you gonna ask her out?'

'What?' I ask, caught off guard.

'Well, you could ask Y/N on a date to the three broomsticks this weekend.'

'No, I couldn't. She'd probably say no.'

'I bet one sickle she'll say yes. Forget that, a galleon. The way she looks at you says it all.'

-- The next morning --

Buttering my toast, I sit and listen to my brother's stupid conversations with Lee.
Y/N joins us and starts filling her plate. Last nights conversation pops into my head. Should I do it? George gives me a look. He knows exactly what I'm thinking about.

I decide to just do it. If I don't I'll regret it. Besides I do want to go on a date with her.

'Hey, Y/N?'

'What's up?' She asks, absent-mindedly buttering some toast.

'Well, I was wondering...if you maybe...'
I can't find the words. How do people do this?

She looked at me, patiently, letting me find the right words. Another reason I like her. She's patient and kind.

'I was wondering if you wanted to go to the three broomsticks with me this weekend.'

She pulls me away from Lee and George before she replies.

'Like...like a date?' She asks.

'Yeah.'

'Sure, okay then.'

'Great. I'll meet you there on Saturday?'

'Sounds good, Fred.'

She said yes.
We have a date this weekend.

The next few days seem to drag on forever. Just hours of waiting. Finally Friday comes around.

'You excited for tomorrow?' George asks. We're sitting in the common room waiting for Y/N to get back. She wanted to study in the library with Hermione.

'Stupid question, you know he is.' Lee adds.

'You still owe me my money, Fred.' George says.

'I never agreed to that stupid bet.'
He's been reminding me for days about that one-sided bet. I never actually agreed to it.

'Whatever, you still owe me.'

- Saturday -

I'm still in shock she said yes. I never really would have thought she'd want to go on a date with me. I'm waiting outside the three broomsticks when I see Y/N walking towards me, smiling. I grin back.

'Hey Y/N.'

'Morning, Fred.'
