- George's POV -

"Of course not."

"So tell me about the match," Y/N says, looking eager to change the subject.

Seeing as Fred's little speech was over, Lee and I take a seat around the fire.

"I mean, we did lose but that book you got me, Y/N, helped loads!" Fred tells her, he seems almost giddy at how much he's improved.

"That's great, I'm proud of you." The two smile at each other and he pulls her into his side. She cuddles closer, relaxing while we complain about how we could have won if their seeker wasn't so slick.

After an hour, Y/N sits up like she's remembered something important and then rushes off, muttering something about the library and some painting. Confused, we brush it off and telling her we'll meet her later. It's Saturday so no classes and a lot of the day left to spare, we decide to go on a walk to kill some time.

Strolling around the grounds was quite calming. I think we all needed it after the match we lost. We lose track of time and end up sitting near (making sure not to get too close) the Whomping Willow before deciding it's too risky. Gradually, we make our way over to the other side of the castle and see Hagrid.

As we get walk closer towards him, Fang runs over to us and jumps up me before sniffing around my pockets. He can smell the sweets me and Fred have been working on.

"Hope you boys aren't causin' any trouble now." He says gruffly, giving us a smile.

"Course not. Can't belive you'd even assume such a thing." Fred says sarcastically, as we grin back.

We go back to the castle, meeting Y/N in the common room. This time when we walk in, she's sitting, legs hanging over the arm of the chair with a book in her hands.

'You alright, Y/N?" Fred asks, kissing her forehead and leaning down to see the pages of her book too. "You confused us earlier when you rushed off."

"Oh yeah... there was a painting I had to talk to." She says, barely looking up from her book.

"A painting?"

"Yeah, the old Hogwarts professor in the library. He was the one that told me about the bet. He heard you guys make it and told me.
"I went to say, well, thanks I guess?"

"Oh," I can tell Fred doesn't know what to say. He just sits next to me in front of the fire. "I am sorry about the whole thing, Y/N."

"I know," She says gently. "I forgive you."

Fred is visibly relieved by this and gives her an one of his infamous grins.

"So, George, this toffee we're making..."

***
- that night -
- Y/N's POV -

The more of the sun that disappears, the less I want to go to sleep. My body aches and my mind is weary but I don't want to go to sleep. I don't want to have another dream like I did last night. As the other girls in my dorm begin to sleep and pull the curtains of their four-poster beds, I sit, book in hand, trying to ease my worrying mind.

I lie and listen to the clock tick, feeling as if its sending me slowly insane. I roll onto my back and look up at the ceiling, wondering what to do. I decide I don't want to be alone anymore. I want to be with Fred right now.

Cautiously I leave my dorm and sneakily walk to the boy's dorms. Knocking as quiet as I can, I wait for any signal that I can go in. Nothing. I turn the doorknob and go in to see all the boys asleep. Apart from Fred, who has his curtains closed.

Silently I tiptoe over to his bed, moving the curtain to find him awake.

"Sorry, I couldn't sleep. I wanted to see you." I whisper.

"It's okay. I'm glad you did. I can't sleep either. Here."

He moves over giving me space to get in with him and he pulls me close to him. I cuddle into him, feeling this is the closest I've been to him since our first kiss as George and Lee are usually around.

"Something keeping you up, love?" He asks, stroking my hair.

"Yeah. I had a dream and I'm worried I'll have it again tonight,"

"What was the dream about?" He says, softly.

"You leaving me."

"I promise I would never leave you. It was just a dream, baby." He kisses my forehead and I feel safe in his arms.

"Thank you," I smile at the reassurance. "What's keeping you up, babe?" I ask, looking up at him and seeing him worried.

"Just thinking about today and what happened. Promise me something?"

"Mhm?"

"Promise we'll be honest with each other from now on?"

He holds out his pinky.

"God..." I say under my breath, and I chuckle. "Promise."

Our pinkies intertwine.

I kiss him on the lips and cuddle into his chest, closing my eyes and drifting off into a comfortable sleep.

"I love you." I hear as a faint whisper.

"I love you too, Fred."
