'Don't forget to write soon, dear,' my Mum tells me as I pull away from her tight grip. 'I want to know you got there safe.'

'Okay Mum, don't worry.'

'You sure you got everything you need?'

'Yes, can I go now? I'll miss the train.'

'Bye sweetie,' my Dad pipes up, kissing me on the forehead. ' We love you.'

'I love you too, see you next summer.'

I turn to come face to face with the brick column between platforms 9 and 10. Pushing my trolley forward, I run and close my eyes. Seconds later, I open them to see a scarlet steam engine ready to take me and my friends back to Hogwarts. It's our third year and I can't wait for all the pranks we're going to pull. Walking over to the train, I find a compartment for my trunk and slowly place it in. 'Now, where are my friends?' I think while looking for two towering gingers in the bustling crowd of witches and wizards. Seeing children of all ages saying goodbyes to their parents, some first years worried because of the rumours they've heard. Failing to see any sign of the Weasleys, I go to find a compartment to sit in.

'Have you heard? Harry Potters coming to Hogwarts this year.'

'Do you think he'll show everyone his scar?'

There had been a lot of rumours about the one and only Harry Potter, whether or not they're true, I'm not sure. Guess we'll find out.

I stroll down the train searching for someone to sit with until I come across the trio I call my best friends. Fred and George Weasley and Lee Jordan. Together we are the troublemakers of Hogwarts that all the professors dread teaching. I slide open the door and take a seat next to Lee.

'Hey Y/L/N, how was your summer?' he greets me.

'Dreadfully boring, what about yours?'

'Alright actually'

'Just gonna ignore your two favourite Gryffindors?' the twins on the other side of the compartment pipe up, making me laugh.

'Favourite? Don't flatter yourselves.'

George pulls his hand to his chest and scoffs, acting offended and I roll my eyes at him.

'How was your summer?' I ask.

'Torture, Percy would not stop going on about being made a prefect and all Mum did was praise him.' Freddie replied.

I had been to stay at the Burrow for a couple days last summer, Mrs Weasley was a great host and was so welcoming when I stayed. She makes great food as well. The twins had a lot of siblings, 5 to be exact. Big family and some of the kindest people I've ever met.

'Y/N, wanna play Exploding Snap?'

'No thanks Georgie, I need a nap.' I snuggled up into the chair, shut my eyes and sleep overtook me almost instantly.

                                                                                       ***

Slowly sitting up, I rub my eyes and join in the conversation with the boys.

'Oh Y/N, you're awake.'

'What did I miss?'

'Not much,' Fred replies. 'Did you hear about Harry Potter?'

'He's actually here?' I ask shocked.

'Yup, he asked us how to get onto the platform earlier and I think he's sitting with Ron now.'

'Wow, he has no idea what he's in for,' Lee adds. 'I mean, he's famous and he doesn't even remember why.'

'It's not like it's his fault.'

'Freddie's right, he didn't ask for any of it.'

'I guess.'

Silence. I hate silence so I change the subject, 'Are we almost there?'

George looks away from the window, 'Yeah, about 5 minutes.'

'I'm going to get changed.' I announce after noticing the boys already have.

I stand up, grab my stuff and walk out leaving the boys chatting about God knows what.

*** Fred's POV ***

I watch as Y/N confidently walks out of the compartment and turn to George and Lee, who are talking about the next prank we're planning to pull on Snape.

'I'll throw in the stink bombs, lock the door and then we leg it.'

Slouching back into the plush seats, I zone out completely. I didn't even notice when Y/N walked back in until the sound of her voice pulled me back to reality.

'Freddie, you ok?'

She had changed into her school robes, the top buttons left undone and her red and yellow Gryffindor tie done up messily.

'Yeah, fine.' I answer giving her a faint smile. She grins back, showing off her teeth.

'What are you guys planning now?' She asks. George is quick to answer explaining our latest prank plan and she laughs softly.

'Wow, you sure put a lot of thought into it.'

'Yup,' replies Lee. 'What do you think?'

'Sounds fun, can I join you?'

I smile as I say, 'Did you even have to ask?'

'When are we gonna do it?' George asks.

'Tomorrow night?

'Can't wait.' Lee responds.

Happy with our plans, we change the subject, chatting away happily until the train finally reaches Hogwarts. The four of us get off and make our way to the Great hall. My stomach grumbles, making y/n laugh, but before we can eat we have to sit through the sorting of the first years.

'Potter, Harry' McGonagall calls out and he steps up to the raggedy old hat. After sitting there for a few seconds, the hat bellows 'GRYFFINDOR.'

Echoing cheers rise from the whole table as Harry wanders over.

'Weasley, Ron.'

He looks terrified as he sits on the stool but relief floods his face when the sorting hat screams 'GRYFFINDOR.' He runs over to sit with Harry and the golden plates in front of us fill with food.

After a while, Y/N, George and Lee decide they've had enough and start walking to the common room, I trail after them full and content and  looking forward to the coming year.
