'Y/N, can you hurry up? We're going to be late.' Fred tells me through my dorm door.

I take one last look at my mirror. I'm dressed in a flowy black dress that's tight-fitted around my waist and a lacy black veil. With my banshee mask in one hand, I open the door with my other.

'Better late than never,' I say with a smile. 'You look great, boys.'

They were dressed as Dementors with large black hoods hanging down their cloaks. The twins love Halloween so they always go all out on costumes. I can tell they're itching to get to the Halloween Ball.

'Thanks, so do you.' George replies.

'Right, let's go.'

                                                                                 ***

As we walk through the labyrinth of corridors, we can already hear music coming from the Great Hall. Fred and George are desperate to get in and show off their costumes. We push open the door and instead of four tables, we are greeted with a lively dancefloor, full with huddles of different houses. One of the tables has been pushed to the side and is full with food. Professors stand around looking unimpressed, taking sips of their drink. I can see Dumbledore swaying contently while McGonagall takes a bite of a cake, seeming bored. The two gingers are bursting with excitement.

Our friend, Lee Jordan, walks over to us dressed in drab, grey clothes.

'And what are you, Jordan?' Freddie voicing exactly what I was thinking.

'I'm a ghost, duh.'

'Cool,' I answer. Hungry, I look around and see the table full of food. 'I'm gonna grab something to eat, you guys want anything?'

The three boys shake their heads and continue talking so I make my way over the table, my mouth watering. It's filled with fancy decorative food, I take a plate and begin to fill it.

All of a sudden, I hear a voice from behind me.

'You must be hungry.' along with a small chuckle. Swiftly, I turn my head, not knowing who to expect.

I become face to face with the one and only, Cedric Diggory.

'Oh, hello.' I say, sounding more bitter than intended. He looks down at my plate and back up to my eyes. I give him a questioning look.

'Hi, Cedric Diggory, Hufflepuff.' He extends a hand which I shake, hesitantly.

'Nice to meet you, Y/N, Gryffindor.'

'I've heard a lot about you.' He answers.

'Oh, only good things I hope.'

I've heard a lot about him, and loads of people say he's arrogant and selfish. He seems alright though. Those are probably just rumours spread by jealous people.

'Save me a dance, maybe?'

Why not? 'Sure.'

'See you later then, Miss Y/N.'

Those rumours must be bullshit. He seems charming.

Cedric's POV

Confidently, I walk away from Y/N and back to my friends. I knew she would want to dance with me. I can get her away from that tosser, Fred. She'd much rather be with me. Andrew, my best mate, starts dancing and the rest of the group joins in.

After taking a quick break, I head over in Y/N's direction.

'Hey Y/N.'

Her three friends turn to me with a scowl but Y/N, however, gives me a small smile.

'Wanna dance?' I see the shock on Fred's face as she agrees and, smirking, I lead her over to the dance floor.

Coincidently, a slower song starts playing and she puts her arms around my neck. I place my hands on her waist and we sway in time to the music.

'I don't think your friends like me that much.'

'Oh sorry about them.'

'Don't apologise for them.'

Out of the corner of my eye, I can see Fred looking at us with a frown. I laugh, he's pathetic. He really thought he could get a girl like Y/N. Someone needs a reality check.

The song ends quicker than I would like and before I know it, Y/N has pulled out of my grasp.

'Bye Cedric, I guess I'll see you around.'

'Yeah, hopefully.'
She smiles before walking off back to her friends. This might take longer than I thought.

George's POV

As Y/N walks back over to us, I give Fred a elbow to the ribs as if to say 'be nice.' He has been watching Cedric and Y/N dance with a huge frown on his face, could he make it any more obvious?

Y/N stands with us, obviously flustered, and I can tell Fred is trying hard not to say something snarky, so I step in.

'Have fun?'

'Yeah, it was alright-' She says, going to continue but Fred cuts her off.

'I'm going to get a drink.' He storms off, moody.

'Whoa, what's his problem?'

'Isn't it obvious?'

'No,' Y/N replies with a confused expression, 'its not.'

These two are oblivious to each others feelings.

'Never mind, Y/N.' I say with a sigh.

She murmurs an 'okay then.' before letting it go. Fred walks back over with a drink in hand and still a scowl on his face. He talks with Lee while the rest of the party is still hectic and loud.
'These shoes are killing me, I'm going to bed.' Y/N announces.
'I'm quite tired too, mind if I join you?' Fred asks. Y/N just nods. They walk away together dodging students left and right to escape the hall, leaving me with Lee.

'Those two are gonna be the death of me.' I take a seat at the nearest table and lean my head in my hands.

'Ah, just let them figure it out.' Lee assures me.

                  ***

Opening my dorm door, the last thing I expect to see is Fred and Y/N curled up together in his bed. Changing into my pyjamas, crawling under my bed covers, I get lost in my thoughts.

I'm a bit worried for Y/N, she's under pressure from her parents and doesn't need to be in the middle of Fred and Cedric's games.

Fred and Cedric have always disliked each other but now Cedric's trying to get Y/N involved and me and Fred don't like that. Cedric's just using her to get to Fred which is cruel, she doesn't deserve that.
