"only four more days until christmas!" fred says cheerfully.

"i know, i can't wait!"

"i hope you got me a good present."

"well you'll have to wait and see, won't you?"

christmas is so soon, and we can barely keep in our excitement - it's all we can think about. there 's only two more days left of school, so we just mess about in class. what's the point in studying when christmas is around the corner?

it's been about three weeks since fred's arm broke, and he says it's almost completely healed, but he's a lot more careful in quidditch now. we're still cautious, so we try not to do anything too vigorous, and we make our pranks a lot more subtle (but still just as impressive) ,  just in case.

my crush on fred isn't going away though, obviously christmas isn't the only thing on my mind this season. i'm not even sure if i want it to go away anymore.

"good morning class, i hope you are all having a good day. today we will be studying 'home life and social habits of british muggles'  by wilhelm wigworthy." professor burbage says, as the books land on our desks (controlled by her wand of course).

"that sounds interesting." fred whispers, and i giggle a little.

"i understand some of you didn't do very well in your recent test, so we will be going over a few of the subjects that were covered before the assessments took place. now, turn to page 56, where you will find the title : how muggles use electricity."

"this class is so boring. i hope we're doing a practical soon, i swear i'll drop out if we don't." i hear someone say, and i can't help but silently agree. we've only done one practical this year, and that was in september, so we all really want to do another one.

i open my book and i see a detailed diagram of an electrical circuit, with a big paragraph next to it, explaining it. 'electricity has many different purposes in the muggle world, for example, they use it for light, while wizards use a spell. they also use it for...'

about 20 minutes go by before fred turns to me and says "hey y/n! what are you doing for christmas this year?"

"umm i'm not really sure. i guess i could owl my dad-"

"why don't you come to the burrow?"

"really? would that be okay? are you sure it wouldn't be a problem for molly and arthur?"

"absolutely! they'd be happy to have you there." he says with a smile.

"okay great! thank you so much."

the rest of the lesson goes by surprisingly quickly, i thought it would go on for ages. it's still quite dull though, the only thing we do is analyse diagrams and study different parts of the book. fred and george are ecstatic at the end - it's the last lesson of the term, so no one can concentrate, and everyone's excited for the holidays.

"oh is that the time? okay class, pack up now." professor burbage sputters. "merry christmas everyone!" she says to us as we walk out.

"welcome back." george says as we walk inside.

"i've missed this place so much. it's been so long since i was last here."

"mum's missed you too. and dad."

the room is filled with christmas decorations and tinsel, and the tree at the end of the room is covered with snow. the burrow is one of my favourite places to be, it's so warm and welcoming. i look around the room as i think about the last time i was here, happy to be back.
