-- Cedric's POV --

I follow Y/N through the castle. I have no idea where we're going. Why did I even agree to this? Y//N is walking frantically, dragging me along.

'Y/N, where are we going?' I ask. She doesn't answer and just continues pulling me along, mumbling under her breath.

We turn up at the library and it's practically empty, apart from some students. She finally lets go of my wrist and walks to one of the corners of the library. Where two gingers are hiding out.

'Fred, George?'

They look up at Y/N and then at me and stand up and begin to leave.

'Wait, seriously, hear me out.' She says, sounding a little desperate. It's kind of pathetic honestly. But I can tell she really cares.

They stop and turn to Y/N, looking pissed off.

'What, Y/N? What do you want? Because I'm pretty sure we've made it very clear that we don't want to talk to you.' Fred says, he seems fuming.

'Cedric, tell them.' She turns to me and gestures to the twins.

'Tell us what?' George asks.

I sigh and tell them, 'Don't be mad at Y/N. Just be friends with her again.'

They turn around but I stop them from leaving.

'Guys, try and look from her point of view. Imagine if your dad was a death-eater, you wouldn't want people to know.'

I have no idea if this is working, they look bored but I carry on anyway.

'Besides, how long have you known Y/N? You know she's not evil or anything. So what's the problem?'

Y/N looks hopeful but I don't think it worked. I don't want it to honestly. Then my plan will have worked.
We wait for what feels like ages as the twins just stand there.

'Well?' Y/N asks, impatiently. The twins say nothing and walk out of the library.

I look to Y/N and she's sat down, head in her hands.

'Y/N? You good?'

'What do you think?' She looks up at me, tearing up. 'This is all your fault. Get fucked.' She says, before storming out.

I stand, frozen, a little shocked at how abrupt that was. I never expected Y/N to act like that. But I know she's right.

-- Y/N's POV --
- a week later -

I can't believe this. The twins are still not talking to me. But I get it. I mean, who would want to hang out with the daughter of a death eater?

But just because I understand doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.

I'm off to Potions with the slytherins. This should be fun. Shit, I'm already late. I run through the emptying corridors to the dungeons. I wrap my robes around me, trying to stay warm.

I burst through the door. Snape stops talking and looks right at me, along with the whole class.

'Sorry I'm late, Professor.'

'Take a seat, Miss Y/N.'

Whoa, ok. He must be ill. Not even a detention. Ok, I'm not complaining.

I take a seat and look around, catching Fred's eye. We both quickly look away. I can see George sigh out of the corner of my eye.

I'm so over them. If they want to be like that then they can. Today we're making veritaserum. A truth potion.

I'm partnered with Katie. We used to be friends but I guess she's scared of me now. Everyone seems to be.

She ends up arguing with Snape to get a different partner because she doesn't want to work with the daughter of a 'murderer.' Ouch.

I end up working alone. In the corner.
Time seems to be going in slow motion. This is utter torture.

-- George's POV --

I walk over to the shelf to pick up more ingredients, taking the long way around, past Snape's desk. I sneak my hand onto the desk, securing the vial in my grip and put it in my pocket. Going back to my potion pretending nothing happened.

Snape ends the lesson after someone blows up their potion. We walk out and flood the corridors, celebrating over an early finish. I see Y/N looking kind of lost.
Me and Fred decide to head down to the Great Hall with everyone else.

We walk past Y/N and luckily she's distracted. I empty the vial without Y/N or Fred noticing. We sit with Lee opposite of us.

'You alright, Y/N?' Lee asks. He's a good person. He doesn't care about her dad. He knows Y/N is a good person.

'Not really.' She replies, not taking her eyes off of her hands clasped around her drink.

It's working.

'Yeah, I guess people finding out about your dad isn't the best thing ever.'

'He's not a monster. He's not a bad person. Well, that sounds stupid because, you know, but seriously.'

Lee stands up and pulls Y/N to her feet and into a hug.

'Even though the two dickheads behind me can't see it,' Lee says, signaling to us. We're the dickheads. 'I know you're not like him. And the twins might not be, but I'm always here for you.'

Y/N pulls away and looks at him. 'Thank you Lee. But I need to say something to the twins.'

'Look, you two need to hear it from me, not Cedric, not Lee. I still want to be friends with you and I understand if you dont want to be.'

I can't read Fred's face but I know I still want to be her friend. I know she's not like her dad.

'So friends or not?'

I look over to Fred, he's staring back at me. I can tell he's conflicted. He needs to stop being an idiot.

Before he can say anything I jump in,

'Friends, obviously.'

Hey guys, hope you all had a great Christmas. Sorry for such a late chapter. I've just been so stressed lately but here you go. It's probably really rough, so again, I'm really sorry.

Hope you all enjoy.
