chapter 15

Y/N's POV

It's been two weeks back at Hogwarts and I'm sitting in the hospital wing with a broken wrist. I know, I know, what a great start back to school. Christmas was great at the Burrow.

'Hey, Y/N, I brought you some food.' Cedric walks towards my hospital bed with a couple sandwiches for me.

'Thanks, Cedric.'

I take a ham sandwich and me and Cedric eat in silence until Madam Pomfrey comes over with some Skele-gro. I take a glass of the foul-tasting drink and its the most vile drink I've ever tasted.

'Alright, just rest for the night and you can leave tomorrow.' Pomfrey tells me before walking away.

'I brought your favourite book.' Cedric hands me my book.

'Thanks, Cedric. Don't get me wrong, I love your company but does Fred know I'm here? I thought he would at least visit me.'

'I don't know, sorry.'

'Oh, alright. Do you mind reading to me?'

'Not at all.'

We sit for what felt like ages, him reading to me. The only sounds are his deep voice and the turning of the pages. Cedric got to the end of the chapter he was on and put a bookmark in.

'Y/N, can I ask you something?'

Fred's POV

The second I heard Y/N was in hospital, I was trying to get to her. I needed to make sure she was okay. She's always been there for me, now I return the favour.

I had to wait until after lessons were over until I could leave, which seemed to drag on for hours. By the time I could go to her, it was quite late.

I walk through the almost empty corridors to the hospital wing. As I push the double doors open, I see Y/N sitting in a hospital bed. With Cedric.

'Hey Y/N, what happened?'

'Broke my wrist in care of magical creatures.'

'Oh. What's he doing here?' I say, more bitter than I intended.

'Fred, be nice.' She says, sternly.

'Sorry.' I murmur.

Cedric finally speaks up, 'What are you doing here? You're so late , you shouldn't have bothered coming at all.'

'I am her best friend, and you know what they say - better late then never.'

'Yeah but I'm her boyfriend.'
