Chapter 15

I was currently sitting on our couch, waiting for Kakashi to finish cleaning up the dishes from breakfast. I wanted to help him, but because I had woken up a little bit dizzy (though way better than what I used to at the beginning of the pregnancy) he didn't let me do anything and made me sit up.

We had a doctor's appointment in about an hour, so while he finished up I just sat there, both of my hands on my womb while my stare was lost on the wall in front of me. I was in fact trying to decide whether I should make time go faster by reading or not. But right before I made my mind I felt something weird that made me stop thinking and widen my eyes.

I swallowed startled and looked down, watching how my belly was now visible if someone was observant enough. Well, at least for now that I was only wearing one of Kakashi's shirts. It could also seem like a weird fold of the shirt.

I stared at it for a little while, my eyes widening again when I felt it again. It was weird, and I still couldn't quite describe it. I moved my hands around my belly, waiting to feel it again. 'Is everything okay with the baby?' I thought to myself, a little scared. But almost as an answer, they let me feel it again. It wasn't kicking, maybe it was too early for that as I was still 4 months pregnant. But it definitely felt as if something inside was moving.

When I realized what it was I couldn't help but smile while my hands hugged my womb and baby more lovingly.

"Are you okay?" Kakashi asked me when he saw I was probably looking at my belly weirded out. But I smiled further, and instead of answering him, I reached my hand out to him.

He tilted his head in confusion, looking like a lost puppy, but approached me nevertheless. He held out the hand that wore the ring and I pulled him closer slightly. Kakashi crouched in front of me, looking even more confused. I smiled at him and rolled my shirt over my belly, now seeing its pregnant shape fully. He arched a brow when I laid his hand on my womb, but then his eyes widened just like mines had done not long ago. He looked a little worried, probably worried about it like I had been the first time, but then the baby moved a little more, and it was then when he understood that there wasn't anything wrong with it. He smiled widely, looking at my belly enchanted and moving his hands around, trying to feel the little life that was being formed inside me.

He waited for a while, but there wasn't any more movement. 'Maybe they're sleeping? Wait, does a baby sleep inside their mom? Wait, how big is it if I can feel it moving! OMG it's too soon' I began thinking in worry. But I stopped my thread of thoughts when Kakashi laid his rosy lips on my belly, closing his eyes and smiling.

It made me smile too, and I brought my hands to his silver head. And then I felt it again, something moving weirdly. Kakashi kissed it again and the almost imperceptible movement kept being there. It really was an odd feeling.

He laid scattered quick and short pecks here and there, doing the sound of a smooch which made me smile and almost giggle, and then he pressed his cheek against the skin of my belly, looking up at me with a smile and gloss in his eyes that made my heart beam in joy. His hand grabbed mine and his fingers laid around my engagement ring.

"I love you" he said after a little silence and quietness, and after his voice sounded the little movement repeated, making my smile widen.

"I think they like their father's voice" I spoke up, caressing my small womb too.
