I woke up groggy. So much in fact, that I didn't even know if I was actually awake, or having a nightmare. If it was 2 am or 2 pm. Not only I was completely disoriented, but I also had several pains. As soon as my lids opened lightly I noticed my eyes stinging and the lids heavy. I wanted to go back to sleep but my whole body felt heavy with sickness, so as soon as I tried to put myself in a more comfortable position on the bed I felt my throat tighten in nausea. And then, a heavy headache followed, as if a sharp needle was piercing from one side to the other.
I shut my eyes with strength, trying to breathe in some fresh air that would make me less sick. And when I felt less nauseous I slowly and carefully sat up, still with my eyes half-closed due to the hard light entering in my room.
I turned my head to the side, regretting it instantly as another headache stroke me. I closed my eyes and held my head for a couple of seconds as I inspected the alarm at the bedside table.
"No fucking way" I mumbled as I saw it was almost 1 pm.
For a second I didn't feel any discomfort as it had been subdued by my bewilderment. Last night I had fallen asleep at 9 pm. How the hell did I sleep so fucking much? 'Fuck I should get something to eat...' I thought to myself, stepping out of bed. But as soon as I stood up everything began spinning, as well as whatever I had in my stomach began to threaten to climb up my throat. So sloppily, I stumbled to the bathroom where I threw up a couple of times.
As I leaned my sick and tired face over the toilet and bitter saliva drooled out of my lips, I thought about the last time I felt this sick. It was after I got super drunk when I was a teenager and I could barely move. But I hadn't drunk anything with alcohol recently so it couldn't be that. The only logical thing I could think of was that I had caught up the flu or something, and that was the reason why I was this tired and had overslept this much.
I decided to stay for a little longer on the toilet until I felt less dizzy and felt less like throwing up. And then, I strode slowly towards the kitchen, trying to move my head the less possible. I knew I had to eat something, but my stomach was really making it difficult for me to want to eat anything. I scrunched my face in disgust but proceeded to eat a loaf of bread with a bit of olive oil. I remembered my mom used to tell me to eat that whenever I felt my tummy wasn't right when I was a kid.
I ate it, slowly so that my stomach wouldn't complain, and then I laid down on the couch for the rest of the evening, trying to feel better or at least not that sick. And although I felt like I would throw up any time, I at least managed not to.
After a long while, there was a moment when I didn't actually feel like puking my insides out. So I decided to go out to the pharmacy so I could buy some painkillers or something. My head still hurt, and I was still somewhat dizzy. But I wasn't as nauseous so everything was alright, or at least better.
But my head began to hurt again as I stepped out of the pharmacy, due to a loud voice.
"Pervy sage! You promised to invite me to ramen!" Naruto complained.
I flinched at the loudness, grabbing my head as I turned to the source of the voice.
"Oh, hey (Y/n)" Jiraiya greeted me after ignoring Naruto "Are you okay?" he asked, probably because of having seen me walking out of the pharmacy with a bag of goods, and because of my pained expression.
"Hi, yeah, not really" I said.
"What? What's wrong!?" Naruto yelled with worry, making me flinch and hold my head more.
