"You've got the milk in the fridge. Remember to check the temperature before feeding him" (Y/n) kept reminding Kakashi while she checked everything one last time. Meanwhile, he stood with Sakuto in his arms, both of them watching the girl.

"I know," Kakashi said.

"The diapers are on —"

"On the right drawer under the sink of the bathroom. Babe, I know" Kakashi said with a smile, kissing her temple.

(Y/n) sighed, rubbing her cheeks and forehead with her hands.

"Sorry, I'm just—"

"Worried, I know too" Kakashi finished her sentence again before chuckling "Everything will be alright, trust me" he said trying to sound confident while in reality, he was way more scared than she was.

(Y/n) was under maternity leave of her ninja duties because of having been a mom not long ago. However, due to her having a special kekkei genkai, the rules didn't apply to her that well. Tsunade had called her two days ago and asked her (though she couldn't exactly refuse) to go as support on a mission where her kekkei genkai was required. It wouldn't last more than two days, just a night away. But it still was difficult for her to leave Sakuto. Though unbeknownst to her it was even more difficult for Kakashi to have her away from him at times like this; leaving him alone with Sakuto.

After that night where he finally talked to (Y/n) about his insecurities, when (Y/n) reassured him of him being a great father; after that moment he didn't feel as insecure. He knew Sakuto loved him too. (Y/n) had taken pictures of both of them sleeping together, and like (Y/n) said, Sakuto loved sleeping with his dad and adored him so much. He loved when his father read to him, though he wasn't sure of what he loved more: his father or the stories; probably the first one because he had (Y/n)'s habit of staring at him when he read, making him fall asleep.

In any case, though Kakashi felt better and more confident, he still was unsettled about the two being alone without (Y/n). What if there was an emergency. 'You'll figure it out. Chill out' he repeated constantly in his mind. Though it wasn't anything related to his insecurities that worried him the most. He knew that if Sakuto was calm he'd have no problems except for his usual cries of needing to change, being hungry or sleepy. However, he had lately been able to move some more.

He was undeniably growing up, and now he was able to crawl around, even sit for a couple of seconds before he fell onto his face. He liked to grab everything and crawl everywhere because he was curious and energetic. That was what unsettled Kakashi.

But in any case, Kakashi had still a couple of remaining hours of calm until (Y/n) left them. They were currently walking to the gates as he wanted to see her off. (Y/n) carried Sakuto in her arms while he hugged her and looked around curiously, laying his little head over her shoulder. Until they finally reached the gates. She passed Sakuto to Kakashi and though he didn't complain he woke up more before the lack of his mother, and instead of resting against Kakashi's chest and shoulder like he had been doing with (Y/n), he stared at his mom as he blinked in confusion.

(Y/n) kissed her son, and Kakashi on his masked lips, as she said goodbye to both. And while Sakuto watched her leave confused, Kakashi held his little hand and waved her goodbye.

"C'mon, say bye to mommy" Kakashi said as he shook his hand with his son's in his, watching his wife disappear into the distance.

While Sakuto sucked into his pacifier he made a noise that could have been a goodbye, or a question as to why was his mom leaving. He repeated the noise, reaching his little hand to where her mom had been, and then looked at Kakashi, asking for answers while he moved on his embrace.
