So for people who were here during my editing faze you know what's up.
For those of you who don't that's alright its fairly recent.
Anyway I have been working on this work since I was 12, it started innocent and bubbly because that's how I wanted the story to be. Fun.
No plot, characters could be ooc, my character could be as op as I wanted. I had no experience in character development, flaws, or story telling.
Which is why I have done the horrible cliche of having my character being so brutally abused you wonder how in the heck is she not broken to the point of insanity.
However it was this work that helped me grow as a writer, to learn from my mistakes. I even deleted most of the cliches and ironed it out so it didn't feel super rushed. Not saying it isn't, but a lot of things weren't properly flushed out or were just omitted while I was editing.
Ex. the team actually hanging out after the Survival Test to discuss on their skill sets and what to work on. Also adding in a lot of interactions of Naruto vs Sasuke and how Naruto's friendship with Etsuko was. The consequences of Etsuko interfering with the Land of Waves Arc, how Zabuza/Haku were doing. Hell how the Jibu of all things was sealed in her, as well as how Isamu is a hellhound of all things when they don't exist at all in the Narutoverse.
No I'm not scrapping this down into the trash bin. This work is still close to my heart and I love the little comedic interactions I created in this.
Will I ever get to finish it?
I honestly don't know it's been years since I felt as bubbly and excited as when I first wrote this. I did have a summarization as a final chapter for me to create a flushed out ending.
And then I was planning a sequel with a crossover with Rosario Vampire and Inuyasha. (I know crazy right?)
But we'll see.
Anyway as I was writing this story I realized that my bubbly innocent oc was a bit out of place in this world. She came from our universe and was chill about killing people? Where was the inner conflict? Is she really that cold blooded? (This was of course in the very early stages of me writing this, now I edited her to have some thought and struggle with it, but not much.)
That's when the story got a bit more morbid and that's when I started having an idea.
What if as a daughter of Kurama, a tailed beast, she is able to sense emotions? However she resonates with negative emotions more strongly due to Kurama but is still able to sense more positive ones through touch.
She could sense killing intent like how Naruto could during his perfected beast state.
And that's where the rewrite comes in.
It's more serious, realistic, dark, gory, and has more interactions with the characters than this one. Or at least the one's that she's supposed to be friends with.
*Stares at Kiba, Shikamaru, Choji, Shino, Hinata, and many others who were left out. And how Matatabi came out of the blue, as well as the talking cats.*
ANYWAY
It will have a DIFFERENT kind of abuse, nothing too physical and are less known. (Look I'm trying to break away giving my characters so much trauma to make them interesting. Baby steps guys... baby steps.)Also small hints on an actual reason why Alice hasn't sent the cops to arrest Etsuko's abusers so... yeh.
Will this rewrite have a sequel?
...
Guys have you SEEN my out of wack publishing?!
I'm sorry but what you're wishing is so disproportionally impossible you'll need a unicorn AND a leprechaun for my lazy butt to give SOMETHING much less a new book.
And no digital, stickers, drawings, or treats will work, you guys need the REAL deal.
*Clears throat*
Any who, that was my announcement and hope you guys enjoyed this work as much as I did!
Chau~
