Chapter 11 - The Chunin Exams Part 1

I was standing in a unfamiliar forest like jungle.

I hear a raspy laugh that sounds like sandpaper against wood.

I turn around as I freeze at the sight before me.

..

Blood..

..

And it was all over me...

Etsuko's pov.

I gasp as I look around quickly. I am still in my room and I sigh in relief. Another useless nightmare. I thought.

I sigh as I look at my watch. 5:23 a.m. I groan. Why do I have to wake up so darn early? I reluctantly get up from bed and take a quick shower. I do my regular routine and decide to eat fish. For some reason I just love fish. Must be because of my youkai fox heritage. I think matter-of-factly.

I sigh in content as I wash my plate. I then decide that it's best for me to train. I walk towards area zero and notice something strange. I was hearing growls and a lot of laughing. I wander off my course as I go towards the sounds.

The sounds lead me towards a playground and I saw a cute little white fox hissing and snarling at a bunch of kids with rocks.

"Get away from here you beast!" Yells a kid with spiky blue hair.

"We don't need another fox here! Get out!" Says a blond haired girl with brown eyes.

My eyes widen as I see them throwing rocks at the poor thing. I growl animalistically as a dark aura surrounds me.

I flash-step in front of the kids and they were no shorter than three inches from me. I snarl as my eyes glow a faint red and my hair starts swirling and defying gravity behind me.

"Mind telling me why you are hurting an animal in which has done nothing to you?" I ask with a murderous tone.

The kids back away as their faces pale.

"You do know that's animal abuse right? I hate when animals get hurt. And do you know what I do to people who do it?" I ask with a crazy grin on my face.

"I kill them~" I said sweetly.

The kids run away and scream in fear. Some even yell different things at me. A few said "demon!" While others said "The Red Habanero has come back! All man to himself!" I laugh at the second insult. I personally like the red habanero.

I turn around and face the snarling fox.

"It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you. Those meanies aren't going to come back for you anymore." I coo.

The fox's ears goes down as it slowly walks towards me.

I extend my hand so it can see that I'm no danger to it. It sniffs my hand and puts it's soft fur in my hand. I smile.

"Hello there little guy. Do you want to be friends?" I ask it with a sweet smile.

The white fox eyes widen as I see that it had mesmerizing blue eyes. It then did something that surprised me.

"Can you sign a contract with me?" It says.

I gasp as I heard the fox speak. Then a face palm. Wow Etsuko just wow. Summoning animals can talk and sign contracts so why are you even surprised? I smile as I nod my head.
