Chapter 7 - Meeting Zabuza

Etsuko's pov

We were now in the middle of a forest, still walking behind Tazuna. I was bored. I was still wearing my other kimono even though I could've gone back to my apartment and got my regular ninja clothes without anyone knowing. I have my eyes closed until I sense chakra from my sensory-nin.

I look at the puddle beside the trail we are walking on and grin. Before anyone can stop and realize what I was going to do. I jump in the puddle.

Kakashi and the rest of squad 7 gave me weird looks. But what can I say. It's freaking hot right now!

While I was jumping and splashing in the water. I look at Kakashi and nod my head. His eyes widen as I jump out and gracefully land on my two feet. I growl.

"Come out! We know that your there!" I said loudly.

Then out of nowhere. Chains were thrown and tear Kakashi to shreds. Sakura and Naruto scream while Sasuke and I just stay quite. I sense chakra hiding near a tree next to Naruto and before the kunai could hit him. I flash step and deflect the kunai away before the poisonous tip could penetrate skin. My eyes glow a deadly blood red. I snarl animisticaly.

There in front of me stood two ninjas.

One had a crazy grin on his face. But looked at me with interest in his eyes. Before he could take a step though, Kakashi popped out of nowhere and clashed with the two ninjas. In a matter of seconds, two limp bodies were hanging from a tree.

Kakashi looked at me worriedly and checked if there was any scratches. When he found out there was none. He sighed in relief. He then looked at me curiously and said.

"I'm surprised. I thought that only I could sense the chakra in the puddle but you seem to have caught it too. Only an elite ninja can sense chakra..." He said eyeing me suspiciously.

I just smile and shrug.

I walk next to Naruto and give him a worried face.

"Are you okay? Do you have any scratches on you?" I ask with a closed smile.

Naruto glumly shakes his head and walks away in a depressed state.

I walk up to him and say.

"Don't be so hard on yourself Naruto. You just saw your sensei being ripped to shreds and was in a state of shock. And because of that you didn't know their was a ninja aiming at you with poisoned kunai. So don't blame it on yourself. Think of it as a new experience to get stronger so you can protect us. Kay?" I said gently. I tilt my head as my hair falls to my side as I did a warm smile.

Naruto blinks as he gives me a toothy grin.

"Yeah your right. No point in brooding over the past right!?" He said loudly pumping his arms.

"Next time I'll be stronger and I'll protect my friends and the village! I'm gonna be hokage someday. Believe it!" He said fully pumped up and ready to go.

I smile as I continue to walk on.

Tazuna was giving Kakashi the explanation as to why those ninjas attacked us and why this mission isn't rank as a B rank. When he finished his explanation. We already arrived at the part where we get on the boat and cross the river.

After the long trip, we finally reached land. After a few minutes, Naruto started to throw shuriken at random places. He threw a shuriken at a bush and a scared white rabbit came running out.

Naruto got the rabbit and was hugging it closely as he was apologizing to the scared thing. I decide that it is best to talk to the rabbit so I mimic a the rabbit's sounds. Sure enough we start talking to each other.
