"I'm really sorry," Millie mumbled into Fred's jumper as he held her on the train.
They had departed from Hogsmeade station some fifteen minutes ago, and their compartment had been silent aside from Millie's decreasing sobs.
"It's not your fault," he said back.
She looked at Fred, guilt and sorrow coursing through her veins as she thought of everything they had gone through this year. It was silent for a moment, but Millie eventually spoke up in attempt to change the subject.
"Erm- about last night," she squirmed. "The whole chess thing..."
"Hey, it was nothing," he scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "It's still just a...touchy subject, I guess,"
"Yeah..." she looked down at her hands, pulling at the sleeves of her sweater.
"That was a fun night, though. Your birthday," he said with a sad smile as he continued to avoid her entrancing blue eyes.
"Yeah," she said, memories flooding her brain.
-
"Oh, it's so on," Millie laughed, beginning to stand up, but Fred quickly grabbed her wrist and pulled her down so his lips were level with her ear.
"Don't take too long," he whispered. "I still need to give you your present,"
"What is it?" she begged, whispering back at him. "If you tell me, I'll go quicker,"
"Let's just say you're not gonna be able to walk tomorrow," he whispered, biting her ear lobe slowly and smirking at her as he let her go.
Millie was completely flustered. Her mind was everywhere but the chess board as her thoughts ran a thousand miles a minute, thinking of Fred's toned abs and bulging biceps and-
"Come on Barrett," Bill pleaded. "I don't have all night,"
Me neither, she thought, smiling down at Fred.
She went and sat across from Bill, quickly trying to finish the game while simultaneously making eyes at Fred. The game was soon over, and she didn't pay any attention as Bill jumped around the living room whooping and declaring victory.
"William!" Molly called, stepping out from the kitchen. "Your father is sleeping! It's getting late. You should be heading to bed- the lot of you,"
Everyone obliged, Millie running up towards Fred and following him to his room. Before they entered, he stopped Millie at the door and put his hands around her eyes. She giggled and waited as he opened the door then walked with her slowly into his room.
"Okay, you can look now," Fred whispered, removing his hands from her eyes.
She opened her eyes and was met with tens of candles floating in the air around the twins room while Arthur's muggle record player played a soft, romantic tune in the corner of the room. Fred's bed has been made nicely with a bouquet of flowers laying across his quilt.
"Freddie," she smiled wide, turning around to look up at her boyfriend. "You did all this?"
"With a little help from George and Bill," he smirked. "I can't do legal magic like you can,"
"That reminds me," she started, moving around Fred to close the door, casting muffliato along with locking it magically. "We're all alone now,"
He looked down at Millie, his eyes flickering to her lips and back, his expression serious as desire overcame the both of them.
"I love magic," he whispered, wrapping his arms around Millie and lifting her off the ground, kissing her deeply as he walked the pair of them to the bed.
