"I'm just saying, there are other things he could talk about," Matt said as he sat on his bed in front of his Potions notes. "Annabelle isn't everything. When's he gonna realize that?"

"He's just in love, Matt," Cedric yawned, his arm wrapped around Millie as they sat on his bed. It had been a few weeks since their return to Hogwarts and they'd been happy as ever.

They'd both been reading peacefully while Matt studied in his bed until Jeffery had barged in with his girlfriend Annabelle, not checking the room before pulling her into a kiss. Matt quickly announced their presence in the room, startling the two and causing them to leave in shame. From that point, Matt hadn't stopped talking.

"Well it's obnoxious!" he exclaimed. "It's always Annabelle these days. Hey wanna go to Hogsmeade? Can't I'm going with Annabelle. Wanna study in the library? Can't I'm studying with Annabelle. Wanna go fly a couple laps? Can't I'm flying with Annabelle. I'm tired of it!"

The only time Millie ever saw Matt mad was when he talked about Jeffery and his girlfriend. He really seemed to hate Annabelle, but from what little Millie knew about her, she seemed really nice. She had some of the best marks in the grade, she was great on the Quidditch pitch, and she'd never uttered a bad word about Jeffery or his friends; yet Matt still hated her.

"Why do you hate her so much?" Millie asked.

Matt froze for a moment. He didn't hate her, he barely knew her.

"I don't hate her," Matt muttered.

"I don't think you could if you wanted," Cedric chuckled. "You don't have a hateful bone in your body, mate."

"Ugh, but I wish I could!" he grumbled, falling onto his back and running his hands through his hair. "She took Jeff! She changed him!"

Millie always felt horrible seeing Matt like this. She thought the situation was deeper than him just losing his best friend, but she wasn't going to ask Matt about anything and put him in an uncomfortable situation.

"I'm going for a walk," Matt spat, throwing his notes aside and storming out the door.

"I hate seeing him like that," Millie said to Cedric. He had already picked his book back up and was back to reading it, but he looked up at her when she spoke.

"He just misses his friend," Cedric sighed. "He'll get over it soon,"

"Will he though?" she added. "He's been like this the whole time Jeffery and Annabelle have been together- hasn't it been like...a while?"

"Hm," Cedric stopped, pausing in thought. "I guess you're right. Maybe he just needs to find someone,"

Oh, I think he already has, Millie thought to herself, dropping the subject, looking back down at her book, and snuggling into Cedric.

A few days later, Millie woke up in her dorm and quickly got ready for school. It was early on a Friday morning, and Millie was quite excited to get to breakfast as last night, Cedric told her he was planning something he needed to tell her about. She stepped out from the bathroom, buttoning up her shirt when Alicia's curtains were suddenly drawn, causing Millie to look up and let out a scream.

"Killian!" she cried, covering her eyes from the sight of her mortified brother in just his boxers. "Bloody hell, why are you here?!"

"I- I stayed here last night!" he exclaimed, scrambling around the floor looking for his clothes. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize how late it was!"

"What's going on?" Alicia yawned, groggily opening her eyes and gawking when she realized Millie was awake. "Holy shit- sorry Millie! He's usually gone before you or Angie wake up! Killian, I told you to set an alarm!"
