Kissing Fred felt right- it always had. They fit so perfectly together, Millie didn't think twice before wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him into her. Their anger turned to desire as they pawed at each other, desperately trying to get closer. She stopped thinking completely the second Fred's lips connected with her's, and she didn't start again until he bit her lip, pulling away from her slowly. Their foreheads rested upon each other as they panted, the heat of the moment overwhelming them as Fred leaned down, kissing her neck and reaching for the zipper on her dress.
As soon as he touched her zipper, Millie felt a tsunami of guilt flow over her.
"Fred, stop," she gasped, stepping back from him. "We can't,"
"Don't tell me you're seriously going to stay with him," Fred spat, rolling his eyes. "You're really gonna let what we have go to shit?"
Millie didn't know what to say; she didn't know what to do. Who knows if Cedric would even stay with her after finding out that she kissed Fred. She ran her fingers through her hair as sobriety hit her like a truck.
"I don't know anymore," she sighed, refusing to look at Fred's eyes. "I just...need some space,"
Millie trudged past Fred into the house. She closed the door, leaning against it with her eyes closed as she fought back the tears that were threatening to spill. You're the worst, Millie thought to herself, How could you do this? Especially to Cedric- he's the nicest person you know. You love him. She held her face in her hands, attempting to take deep breaths through the pounding headache that began to spread through her brain.
Millie realized in that moment- this is exactly what she feared Cedric would do. She was staying at her ex-boyfriend's house and watching her feelings for him rekindle. She couldn't be mad at him for everything that had happened with Isabelle; at least he wasn't reciprocating the feelings; at least he didn't kiss her. The more Millie thought about her past week, the more she realized how horrible she would feel if it was the other way around.
She had the perfect boy and she probably just ruined everything because she couldn't move on. Sure, he'd messed up with the Fred situation, but he was sorry. He was so sorry and he had done it for Millie.
The thing picking at her brain that made her most upset was that she still didn't trust Cedric around Isabelle. She had no reason not to, he had told her nothing was happening and Cedric wouldn't lie to her; there was just the pounding thought that something more was going on. The way they had walked in together, the happiness the conveyed when they were next to each other...none of it sat right with Millie.
The only thing she knew in the moment was that she had to tell Cedric about the kiss as soon as she saw him. He deserved to know and he could decide what their next move was. She wouldn't blame him if he dumped her the second she told him, but she really did want to be with him. She had barely scratched the surface of her relationship with Cedric, and if they were this happy at this stage, she could only imagine how beautiful it would become.
"Can I sit?" Millie looked up to meet Charlie's sweet brown eyes looking down at her as she sat, leaned up against the door. She nodded meekly and scooted over. "Are you okay?"
"I've been better," she sighed. "Everything's a mess,"
"I hate to leave you in the middle of it all," Charlie frowned.
"Shit...I forgot you were leaving tomorrow," she said. "I barely got any time with you,"
"I'll be back soon. I promise," he turned his head, smirking at her. "I'll send an owl a month in advance so you can make sure you're single,"
