Chapter 5: 𝑓𝑙𝑎𝑠ℎ𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘𝑠

Karls Pov:
Chris just told me that he is on his way to my apartment so I decided to make some lunch for us.
I also told Melanie to come to my apartment today at about 1pm so she can meet a friend of mine.

--some time later--

"Hey Melanie come in!" I saw that she has the same sweater from yesterday but this time a white skirt.
"So who's the friend you told me about?" She immediately asks after coming in.
"Oh his name is Chris and he should be here any minute."

And at that exact moment he showed up behind Melanie. It made me jump so Melanie asked if I were ok.
"Jesus Chris you just scared me so much" I say and Melanie turns around.
"You should've seen your face Karl!" Chris laughs and Melanie agrees.
"Shut up both of you and come in"

"Ok so Melanie this is my friend Chris and Chris this is my neighbor Melanie." I say.
"Me and Karl do YouTube videos with Mr. Beast so that's how we met each other."
(Disclaimer: I have no idea how they actually met I just had this in my mind)

"Wait I think I have heard of Mr. Beast before, isn't he the one who give out a lot of money?"
She asks and me and Chris both nod.
"I think I have also seen you in one of Mr. Beast video before!" She says as she looks to Chris.
"What about me?" I ask with puppy eyes.
"Sorry not you" she shakes her head with a sad expression on her face.
"I'm glad I didn't see you in one of his videos" she says again but this time with a big smile.
"Get. Out. Of. My. HOUSE!" I shout on the last word and it makes her genuinely scared.
"Melanie...RUN!" Chris whispers to her.

She hides behind a wall and I just chuckle.
"Ok now let's stop this bit don't worry I'm not an actual pussy." She has a facial expression that I have never seen on her face before.

We ate together the spaghetti that I made when Chris was coming to my apartment. Chris and I showed her some of Mr. Beasts Videos and introduced her to our other friends.
But then Chris had to leave so it was me and Melanie alone again.

"Your friend seems really nice! And I actually didn't know you were friends with Mr Beast."
"Well I guess I'm just superior"
She giggles and says goodbye
"Wait you're leaving already?" I ask
"Yeah I'm going on a walk with Delilah"
"Alright see you on Saturday?"
"Yes sir"

She left and closed the door.

Melanie's Pov:
I have gotten pretty comfortable with Karl already even if I only know him for 2 days. That's very unusual for me to do but I guess it's just because Karl is a pretty nice and cool guy who understands me well.
I'm glad I decided to be friends with him.

"Are you ready?" Delilah asks while she's waving her hand infront of my eyes.
"Oh yeah sorry I just zoned out."
"What were you thinking about?"
"About my childhood bestfriend.." it was true and I tried my best to get her out of my head.
"It's ok Melanie, you're gonna find her again! And I will help you"

Delilah can be such a nice person even when you think she can't. She always has a soft spot in her heart and she always supports and cheers me up when I'm sad.

I was  so worried that I just started crying and fell on the floor. I didn't want to lose her again.
She gave me the confidence to wear what every I want and always supported me.

If I actually lose her again I don't know what would happen.

Niki's Pov:
My phone is broken and I just don't know what to do... Melanie probably is so worried about me..

Wait I can't get her number back because I didn't have a backup for my IPhone. I'm so stupid! And nobody else I know has her number

--a few weeks later--

I miss her so much but I can't find any way to contact her..she doesn't have social media yet and my "friends" are telling me to get over it but they don't know how much I love Melanie and she is the reason why I'm the person I am today..

Melanie's Pov:
It has been weeks and still no response from Niki..it can't be right? No no no maybe her phone is broken? Yes I shouldn't worry about it I'm sure she will get my number again..but how.

Maybe I shouldn't think about her and the sadness will be gone.

Back to present

Melanie's Pov:
"Let's Go Delilah" I say with a sad expression in my face.
"Alright. I can bring some earphones so we can listen to music together." She offers
"That would be great. But we HAVE to listen to Melanie Martinez!"
"Again? Fine but then we also have to listen to girl in red AND 100gecs!"
I agree and we start going outside.
