Chapter 9: 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑓𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢

Melanie's Pov:
I was going out for a walk with a while even if I don't like going outside alone. I had to get fresh air and Delilah and Karl were busy so I didn't bother asking nor telling them.

I probably shouldn't have done that.

I left my phone at home so I couldn't call anyone if I was in danger which again was very stupid of me. Luckily not many people were outside the building so not many people saw me.

I'm almost at the entrance to the building when I see 2 little girls who look like they were about 13 years old sitting on a bench and it looks like they are playing on their phone. They look so happy and they are laughing and playing around.

I didn't notice that I was looking until one of the girls asked:
"Uhm do you need help with anything?"
"Oh sorry no I don't, thanks"
Well that was embarrassing. I quickly walk past them and my cheeks were going red.

Karl's Pov:
After I ended stream me and Delilah look everywhere in the building until we decided to go outside and look for her there.

We go into the elevator and wait and right when we were at the bottom a girl steps into the elevator looking down at her feet. And that girl was Melanie.

"Melanie omg we thought something happened to you!" Delilah immediately hugs her and almost starts crying. I have never seen Delilah like that but I only know her for 1 week so I'm not surprised.
"Ouch uh is everything ok? " Melanie asks if she weren't gone for a hour without telling us.
"You were gone for like a hour! We looked for you everywhere in the building and now we just decided to go outside and look for you there." Delise says after pressing the button for our floor in the elevator.
"I'm so sorry for making you guys so worried. I didn't want to bother you guys since you seemed so busy so I didn't tell anyone and I forgot my phone.." Melanie says looking down at her feet again.

"Well why were you outside alone again?" I ask and she looks up to me again.
"Oh well I just had to get some fresh air and walk around."

We step out of the Elevator and walk to our apartments.

Delilah's Pov:
I wake up with an annoying ringing tone in my ears. It was my alarm clock again.
I stand up and remember that Melanie's birthday was in 10 days so I text Karl about it.

Wow. What a great friend you are.
Anyways I thought we could make a surprise party with only us. I did try my best to find her childhood bestfriend Niki but I literally give up.

I really tried to find her social media but I don't even know how she sounds like or how she looks like today.

wait the name of her childhood bestfriend is Niki? I have a great friend of mine whose name is Niki too
She also told me about a childhood bestfriend before and how she still misses her a lot

That's where it clicked in my head.
I quickly went to get my shoes and told Melanie that I will be right back so I could go to Karl's apartment.
I knock on his door and he opens it with a questioned face and I just walk in and tell him:

"What if your friend is Melanie's childhood bestfriend?"

"It would make sense..I could call Niki right now and ask for the name of her childhood bestfriend!" He takes out his phone and clicks on the discord app. He calls his friend Niki and she answers after some rings.

"Hi Karl do you need anything?" Her voice is adorable and so cute.
"I know this might be a weird question but is there a chance that your childhood bestfriend's name is Melanie Hana?" As soon as Karl said her name Niki gasped.

"Y-yes how do you know?" Niki replies and it sounds like she's about to cry.
"Wait really? Is she half Japanese and half German?" He asks.
"Yes! Do you know her?" At this point I could hear her sniffles so I'm sure she's crying.

"Well shes my neighbor and her roommate is next to me right now and told me that Melanie's childhood bestfriends name is Niki and you also told me about a childhood bestfriend so we thought there might be a possibility!" Karl sounds so exciting and I can only smile since we just found Melanie's old childhood bestfriend. It just couldn't get any better.

Or could it?

Me and Niki have talked for a little and I told her how Melanie is doing today even with the horrible things that happened to her.
"So she's still getting bullied and picked on? I thought that changed but I guess it didn't.." she sounded so sad and I could tell she cared a lot about Melanie and I understand.

"So Niki, Melanie's birthday is in 10 days and I was trying to find her childhood bestfriend aka you and now since I have finally found you I'm asking if you could maybe fly to us and help us surprise her? We will book everything and pay for it if you want to!"

I hope she says yes since it's my only chance to make Mel's birthday the best birthday she has ever had.

"Sure! I don't have a lot planned next week so I should be free and you don't have to pay for anything. It's gonna be great seeing Melanie after almost 7 years." You could hear her excitement and happiness in her voice and I was also very happy especially for Niki and Melanie. It's gonna be great seeing them both together after almost 7 years.

Yay they have finally found!!

Its so embarrassing rereading this fanfiction and realizing how many typos I had and mistakes...the 8 days and 10 days thing with the birthday has got to be the most embarrassing thing EVER HELP
