If I Was Your Man (BWS)

Eleven

*Brad P.O.V*

I lied on my back in my room thinking through last nights events. From the game, to the kiss, to falling asleep together.

She likes me. Maddie likes me.

I can get her. I could go to her house, ask her out and she'd say yes. She told me herself, she said she likes me.

There was a knock on the door, almost making me jump in my daydream haze. "Come in."

"Hello." Tris said, wondering in. He came over and lied beside me on the bed in the exact same position as me.

""Hello mate." I said.

"So." Tris said.

"So..." I replied.

"What's going on then? You know, with you and Maddie. What did Con say about it?" Tris asked.

"You haven't asked him about it?" I said.

"No I wanted to ask you just in case he was, you know, pissed off with it or something." Tris said.

"Ah I see. Nah, he's actually fine with it. He practically gave me his permission to date his sister, it couldn't have gone any better." I said.

"Right, so when are you going to ask her?" Tris asked.

"That's what I was just thinking about. I'm not sure entirely on when to do it, all I know is that I want to do it when it's 100% right and I've thought through everything. Also it's a case of how I ask." I replied. "Like, do I pull her aside and ask her, or do I take her for a meal, or maybe a walk."

"I suggest you invite her out for a walk or a meal or something and ask her. Make it cute but private. She'd like that." Tris said. "But also don't try to go too big, she clearly likes you for you and that's a good sign. She's a very sweet girl, she'd love anything you'd do for her."

"Thanks man. I'm thinking I'll do it soon." I said.

"Just do me a favour and let me know when you're asking her." Tris said.

"Of course I will." I said. "You, Con and James will know before I ask her."

"Awesome, thanks man." Tris said. He got up and left the room.

I sat up and pulled my notepad from my bedside table. I opened it where the bookmark was and started at the lyrics in front of me.

Nah... this needs some work. How about.. "Something in your mind has changed." I sang. That's it! "And you're wondering about... you and me."

I sang those lines over a few times, grabbed my guitar and played the melody along. I can't wait for this song to come to light.

*Maddie P.O.V*

"Right so I had a video idea." I said to Con.

"Right?" He said.

I looked at him and Luce, who were sat on the other sofa. Con had his arm around her and she was cuddled into his side. They're honestly so cute together. Anyway.

"Okay, so I go online and find some juicy fan fictions about you and the lads for you to read." I said.

"Oh please!" Luce exclaimed. "I'd pay to see that."

Con laughed. "Let me ask the others about it and I'll get back to you."

"Thanks man." I said, turning my attention back to my laptop where I was editing my video for tomorrow. It was a summer starter pack video, going through outfits I wear, things I eat and drink, activities I do, etc. Just to give ideas on how to spend summer well I guess.

A message flashed up on my phone and I read it to see a text from Brad.

B: Hey, what sounds better: 'I'll see through all your darkest nights' or 'I set your darkest nights alight'? X

Me: Now are those song lyrics or a proposal speech? 😂X

B: It could be whatever you imagine it to be x

Me: Alright, 'I set your darkest nights alight' x

B: Why thank you x

Me: No problem. So when can I hear this new song? X

B: I'd say give us 2 days and it'll be ready. Gotta get the lads down to the studio to record it first x

Me: Well then, I look forward to it x

"Why are you smiling so much?" Con said as he got up to go into the kitchen. He peered over my shoulder. "Ahh, Brad." He said, winking over at Luce and giving my shoulder a nudge. "Don't get too excited lil sis."

"I will fucking kill you." I threatened.

"Ooh scary." Con said from the kitchen. "You two want anything?"

"Yeah get me some food of some sort please." I said.

"Same here babe." Luce said. "So, you and Brad hey. How's things going?" Luce asked me.

"We're talking. I'm not sure where it'll go from here but I guess we'll see." I said.

"Don't worry Mads, it won't be long and he'll be on his knee proposing to you." Connor continued to tease me as he walked back in and chucked me a big bag of popcorn.

"I have a strong urge to stab you right now." I said, laughing.

"I'm only teasing, I'm only teasing." Connor laughed. "I was saying to Luce the other day, I bet you by the end of the week you'll be together."

"Nah." I denied it.

"I bet you will." Luce said.

"See?" Con said.

"You really think?"

"Please, I gave him full permission." Con replied casually.
