They all sit in silence while Renjun continues to talk, his voice cracking and tears still dripping down his cheeks. Jisung holds him close and tightly, his arms around the boy's body making sure not to hurt his wings.

"And when that comes near us, it makes us weak and unable to control our emotions."

Renjun lies on his bed while looking up at the ceiling. It's currently 7 pm and he had arrived home about an hour ago, from hanging out with the new boys who he considers best friends already.

"Hey, Renjun."

"Oh, Kun ge! What's wrong?" Renjun sits up while looking at the boy who stepped into his room.

"Nothing. How was your time spent with those boys?" Kun sits next to the boy and pats his head.

"Oh well..it was fun. Except for when Jaemin set a tree on fire and Jeno made Chenle float really really high—but the last one was kind of a good thing because he was able to spot that black fog coming towards us."

Renjun took a breather as he had just run out of breath. His brother was smiling until he realized what Renjun said.

"Jun..did you say black fog?"

"Yeah..."

"Renjun why didn't you tell me when you got here?!"

"Ge I'm sorry—"

"No Renjun! You understand that when shit like that is around you, you can get killed! And it's able to still harm us later on? You should've told me earlier!"

Renjun began tearing up as Kun continues getting him in trouble. He felt bad that he didn't mention it right away but he genuinely forgot.

"Kun ge..please...I'm sorry.."

Kun stops himself abruptly and stays quiet. Renjun looks up at him only to see the older boy was tearing up as well.

"Gosh Renjun..." Kun pulls him into a tight hug and they both began crying together.

"I'm sorry...I just—I don't want you to get hurt. It's hard to imagine my life without my baby brother. I love you so much and all I want is for you to be safe the entire time."

"Kun ge...I know. But it's okay to get roughed up from time to time."

"But you got so used to it as a kid...and as soon as I was able to get full custody of you, I needed to move you. I couldn't stand seeing you hurt every day. I wanted to change that."

"But ge...Now I have 5 amazing friends and...I doubt I'll get hurt much."

"Renjun...I don't think they're your friends."

Renjun frowns a bit as he looks at Kun.

"What do you mean?"

"Do you remember that story I told you? About that one fairy who became friends with two people and they wanted to protect her more than anything? And well it turns out they were meant to be?"
