At break time, the only feeling that could rush over me was anxiety as I noticed the constant whispers which flooded people as I walked passed. I felt my breathing speed up along with the pace I was walking at, until, without even noticing, I walked straight into Finn - or atleast, Im guessing it was Finn.
"Hey! Careful!" He said, chuckling to himself and catching me. "What's up?" He gave me a concerned, gentle look.
"They're whispering about me..." I said, ducking my head, staring at my feet, in a way which made my voice barely noticeable.
"Who?" He said, frowning and wrapping an arm around me.
"Everyone!" I said, looking up. No one was currently around us, but it was on,y around the corner.
"Are you sure it's you they're even whispering about?" He said, beginning to walk the opposite direction from where I had just come from. I followed him quickly, trying to catch up with his long strides.

I kept my head down and didn't answer. I wasn't sure, but that's what it felt like. Finn stopped in front of a large crowd blocking the path and sighed. "Move!" He said, folding his arms and rolling his eyes.
"Pfft, whatever Jack!" One of the boys said, rolling there eyes and shoving Finn as the group moved. I noticed that the group was of course the populars, thus the reason for them being so harsh, and the boy who had just shoved Finn was none other than Jim. It's funny, he looks so kind and gentle and yet he's so spiteful to encounter.
"Idiot, get your facts straight. It's Finn." He said, quickly grabbing my hand and dragging me passed them.

"Woah woah woah hold up!" Marcus said, stopping us. "Little Harries here seems to have himself a girlfriend!" Marcus was now laughing and Finn was going red. I kept my head ducked the whole time so they couldn't see my face.
"She's not my girlfriend!" Finn said sternly.
"Then why are you holding her hand?" Alfie scoffed. Alfie's voice was so much gentler on FaceTime, but now it was harsh and sarcastic.
"Look, just leave us alone!" I said, quickly looking up and letting go of Finns hand.
"Aw, little Zoe finally got herself a boyfriend!" Marcus said, laughing as he saw my face.
"Wait? You're Zoe?" Alfie said, clearly shocked. He didn't take his eyes off me.

I stared at my feet, not answering. Instead, Finn answered for me saying, "Alfie, no one wants to get involved in your athletic games so leave us alone." And with that, he pulled me away quickly to go find the rest of the gang.
"What was that all about?" Finn said finally, after a long awkward silence.
"My friend Facetime-ed Alfie, I so happened to be in the background, he didn't realise I went to his school, I refused to show him my face, he was curious as to who I was and now he's met me, kay?" I said, all in one breath. I started breathing rapidly, trying to regain my breath as quickly as possible.
"Not a word of that made sense but Im just going to say Okay!" Finn said, laughing.

We finally arrived to where everyone was, and Louise kept giving me a few looks as if to question why I was with Finn. She knew me and him were just friends, she just found it fun to annoy me. I simply replied by rolling my eyes everytime she turned to me.
"So, anyway, did you hear that some kid split Cola all over Tyler yesterday and he physically screamed?" Caspar said, laughing. Despite how nerdy, quiet and dorky Caspar was, he always seemed to be one to gossip.
"Oh my God yeah! Apparently Jim got jealous with how 'helpful' Tanya was being!" Louise said, hiding her laughter. I didn't quite understand why the others hated the populars so much. Okay, I'll admit, I can't stand Marcus, but that's only because he picked on me for a few years in Primary. I guess Tyler also seemed like a brat, but Tanya seemed as though she could be sweet at times, Jim seemed pretty stubborn most of the time but still had a bright smile and Alfie... Well he's just plain cute I guess. But he is also seriously loud, like, a ive never seen someone with so much confidence!

"Let me guess, Alfies the one spreading it around the school!" Kate said, rolling her eyes.
"Speaking of Alfie," Finn began saying. Oh God, was he going to tell them about what I told him about Alfie? "Zoe here has had a little conversation with the young lad!" Finn said, overly poshly and trying not to laugh.
"Hey! He didn't even recognise my face until a few minutes ago!" I said, poking Finn.
"So we turn our backs for 2 seconds of you and Finn go hanging with the populars." Louise whispered to me, laughing and raising an eyebrow.
I giggled slightly before Finn continued, "Yeah but he clearly couldn't take his eyes off you! Seriously though, if you ever leave us for a guy like that, I will physically come to your house when you're sleeping, kidnap you and lock you in my basement and tell him you died." His comment made us all crack up in laughter until Troye walked over and said, "Whats so funny?"
No one exactly wanted to say anything, seeing as Troye was still extremely clingy and would hate to know I had spoken to Alfie, but Caspar couldn't resist as he said, "You know, just making jokes about your ex and her new boyfriend!"
You know those moments when it takes all your strength to resist slapping someone, this was one of those moments.

So yeah, Troye is a clingy ex if you couldnt tell.
