"Alfie!" I called, stopping him from leaving the gate. He turned to me with furrowed eyebrows and I just smirked at him.

"How's Jack?" He said, which only made me roll my eyes.

"Finn! Anyway, he's fine, but..." I couldn't really hide my smile, because I was actually pretty good excited for today.

"But...?" Alfie said, furrowing his eyebrows further to show his confusion.

Ugh, boys.

"But you should have something else on your mind! Today I choose how our date goes! Be at my house at 6." I smiled and winked at him before quickly skipping out the school gates before he could protest.

I smiled at my reflection in the mirror, happy with what I saw. I wasn't all dressed up, in fact I was rather dressed down, but it was perfect for what I had planned with Alfie.

I was dressed in some black skinny jeans along with my cream sweater and blue shirt underneath it, so as only the collar was visible. I was only wearing a little bit of make up, going for the more natural look.

I was just hoping that Alfie wouldn't expect this to be really formal.

I skipped downstairs, going straight for the kitchen, furrowing my eyebrows when noticing Joe going through my bag.

"Excuse you?" I said, making him freeze before slowly turning around.

"It's not what it looks like?" He said more as a question than a statement. I rolled my eyes and walked over to him, but being happy when I saw him searching through my purse. "50p, that's all I need." He said, frowning slightly.

I rolled my eyes before quickly looking through my purse and handing him a 50p coin, not fully understanding how he has less money than me. We literally get the same amount every week.

I heard doorbell ring and smiled before quickly rushing to the door before anyone else had the chance. I smiled at Alfie when seeing him dressed in jeans and a shirt, that really suited him.

"So, what's the plan? Netflix and chill?" He said, wiggling an eyebrow and making us both laugh.

"I'll be right back." I giggled, quickly going back to the kitchen and grabbing my handbag and another bag before going to the door back to Alfie. "Let's go!"

"I'm guessing you want me to drive." He said, raising an eyebrow but I only shook my head.

"No ones driving anywhere. Cars kill the environment." Alfie rolled him eyes at my words but I attached my hand to his never the less and smiled. He smiled back at my touch and we began walking down the street swinging our hands from side to side.

"Zoe, we've been walking for ages and we're in the middle of nowhere." I heard Alfie say in an annoyed tone.

"Patience is key. Anyway, we're literally 2 seconds away." I said, trying me to pick up a pace.

"2 seconds away? Zoe, the only things we're near is a large tree and more fields." He said, joining my fast pace.

"Exactly." I smiled, walking over to the tree before stopping and opening the second bag I brought.

I picked out a large cloth and laid it down before getting several other items out my bag and laying them down.

"We're having a picnic." I giggled, before quickly sitting down crossed legged.

Although Alfie rolled his eyes, I saw him smile slightly as he sat down next to me.

Ew this sucks, next chapter will hopefully be better

Anyhow, apparently I need reading glasses which kinda sucks considering I literally just got braces and now I'm getting glasses too
