Languor

Chapter 13

Hange giggled in pure glee and excitement, completely overlooking or rather ignoring the startled shouts from the girls, some of their faces the definition of pure dread.

"The woods?!"

     Eren wasn't paying attention to any of that though, because just like his head, furious thoughts were missing and so was any writing on his card.

He flipped it over just to make sure too but no...

It was completely blank.

"Eren!"

"Huh?"

     Eren jumped at his name being called, looking immediately to his sister who was watching him curiously. He blinked before clearing his throat, coming back to the situation at hand. Looking around, the brunet noticed that all the other girls were standing up in groups of threes or fours, conversing with their friends at some sort of news.

"You idiot what are ye spacing out for? It's time for us to go—we have a forest tuh trek."

      Historia said, grabbing his arm and hoisted him up with surprising strength.  Thankfully, his chair hadn't been pushed in all the way at the table, so his lower body was saved from the possible collision. Looking at Historia, the girl had the audacity to at least look sheepish at his annoyed gaze as the brunet yanked his arm out of her grip only to go right back to looking at the blank card.

"Are you alright? You've been staring at your card for a long moment...Something caught ye eye?"

      Historia's voice softly questioned and Eren debated whether or not he should tell her about it. Honestly, it may not have been such a big deal as he made it out to be, so of course, looking for validation of his thoughts, the male omega nodded his head.

"Yeah, actually. My card—it's blank."

"Oh? Let me see it for a second?"

      As if he would have completely missed the penmanship of black ink, Historia took the card from his hand and flipped it over just like he did. Not once but twice she did this before her brow furrowed a bit in confusion.

"Oh wow that's strange...Are you sure you didn't get a dud or something? Mine has writing and...Yeah, other girls have writing as well—"

She pointed to various groups of girls who were standing around in clusters, discussing what exactly their card said. Historia reached for her own and showed Eren what hers said. Reaching for it, Eren read out loud:

""Marvelous actions displayed, attitude could use some work. It's be in your best interest to stop attempting to go places you have no business going to—" Historia what the fuck is this-"

"Don't worry about that Eren. The point is, is that mine has writing, everyone else has writing, but yours doesn't. I'm certain it's a mistake though, it's weird ye haven't got a single drop of ink on it at all."

"So you're saying I should tell Miss Hange?"

"Yes, Eren. That's exactly what I'm sa—"
