— "I am the mighty Coffea." said the cow "Daughter of the Earth, and mother of all coffee. The one the legends told to grow coffee from great stars, and gift it to the small earth." she spoke slowly, like she had all the time in the world. "But who I am, is not nearly as important as who you are."
— "But I've never seen you in my life, how could you know me?" Mary asked
— "You are Mary Arabica. I have waited millions of years for you. And the time has finally come for you to fulfill your destiny. Coffee is in danger. You are the only one who can save it."
And as the cow said this, she disappeared into thin air, almost as she had never been there.
Mary suddenly felt something small in her hands, as she opened her hands she gasped in amazement. A coffee bean! Mary's instant thoughts were of adding it to her other remaining coffee beans in her basement, but this thought was quickly interrupted by the seed turning into a burnished shade of unmistakable gold. Mary had never seen such thing like it before. Mary dropped it in shock, and the bean disappeared.
But in the corner of her eye Mary saw a bright, blinding light coming from her globe in her bedroom. As she got nearer the light it dimmed and and the gold coffee seed presented itself in the globe, next to Minas Gerais, Brazil. And suddenly it all made sense.
Mary knew she needed to go there. Mary was going to Brazil.
