(Still set in past)

Mary and her grandma sat in two patterned armchairs, quietly drinking their coffee in oversized mugs.

—"Gran," started Mary.
—"Yes, dear?
—"I was thinking that maybe... I could move in with you." Mary said quietly, looking down at her coffee.
—"And why would you want to do that, bean?"
—"My parents hate me anyway, they wouldn't miss me."
—"Don't say that, bean!" Said her grandma, in her conforting voice. "You are special Mary, you are more important than any other child out there, and you are destined for great things."
—"How CAN I be, if everyone treats me like a rotten coffee seed—"
—"You ARE important. Let me tell you something. A coffee seed when separated from its fruit isn't ready to make coffee. It needs to go through days of processing, and in this processing it can rot, get mildew, be eaten by insects, overdry and even grow mouldy. But after all the tiring, risky process of cleaning, drying and roasting, it is the best coffee seed it has ever been. And each one of those coffee seeds destined for greatness. Mary, you ARE that coffee seed."

(Back to Mary in the airport in the present)

Mary remembered. She WAS that coffee seed. And she CAN save the world.
