It was a three hour ride to the airport and almost 1 am when the taxi stopped at the door. Mary quickly took out the money— too much money— and shoved it in the driver's hands.

"Wait for your change ma'am!" Said the  driver.
But Mary didn't have time to wait for change. She scrambled trying to open the door and taking her suitcase while putting her wallet away. Mary ran out of the car with her coat half off and her keys threatening to fall off her pocket.

Mary knew she was running out of time to save humanity. This mission was more important than anything she had ever done, and she wasn't going to waste any time getting a couple hundred dollars change from the driver or rescuing her keys that just stumbled off her pocket.

The airport was huge. Mary had never seen such a striking structure of glass and metal and blinding shades of white. The menacing walls looked ready to swallow her whole, and Mary began to finally feel a bit overwhelmed.

Was she really good enough for such an important task?
After all, she was just a girl from Cafeashire.
