— "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Belo Horizonte International Airport, the local time is 8:32, and the temperature is 35 degrees." Said the muffled voice in the plane, as its heavy wheels hit the ground.
Mary quickly stood up and grabbed her suitcase, ready to go. But when her blurry vision cleared, she noticed everyone else was still quietly in their seats, and the plane was still moving.Mary waited a while, but after more than two minutes, the plane was still moving, at an ever so sluggish pace, parking itself near the airport. Mary knew she didn't have time for this, she made her way to the front of the plane.
—"I'm sorry madam, but we are going to have to ask you to stay in your seat for now." Said a cabin crew woman, blocking Mary's way.
—"When are we going to be able to get off the plane?" Asked Mary, making a failed effort not to sound too frustrated.
—"It will probably take a few minutes, now if you could go back to your seat, madam."
—"How many? Sorry, but I have to get off, I really don't have much time—"
—"I don't know for sure, maybe about twenty minutes. But it is very important that passengers stay on their seats for now."
Interrupted cabin crew woman, now clearly getting impatient.Mary looked around her. People were starting to look, and for a moment Mary felt she should back down, after all, she had never enjoyed confrontation. But that was old Mary.
