The next day me and Five sit in the van watching as Lance heads to his car. Last night we had figured out that he was selling the prosthetic eyes, and had lied to us.
Grabbing my wrist Five warps into the man's car as he gets in. Five in the passenger seat me in the back seat.
"Oh, Jesus," Lance gasps as he sees Five.
Lunging forward Five presses a knife against Lance's throat.
"One chance. That's all you got. One chance to tell me exactly what's going on in that lab," Five demands.
"I...I manufacture prosthetic devices for fake patients. I bill the insurance companies and then sell them for cash. On the black market."
"Including eyeballs?" I asked petting his dog. Who had decided to sit in my lap.
"Yeah, they're my biggest seller. I mean, they sell like hotcakes. I... I've got a list, a watching list, probably 20 buyers." Lance answers.
"So, the serial number I told you…"
"Uh, could've already been bought. Yes, off...off the books." Lance answers.
"We need that list, Lance," Five says. "Names and numbers, and I need it now!"
"I don't have it. I mean, not on me. The only copy's in my safe at the lab."
"Well, you start the car, then. Cause we're going on a field trip," Five says.
"Okay," Lance says.
"Now," Five demands.
"Okay," Lance nods quickly, strapping in his seat belt before starting the car.
Walking to the Meritech building me and Five look over to see the building of fire. Following Five we both start running towards the building.
"What are we-" Just then the building explodes, blowing me and Five back. My head slams hard onto the concrete causing everything to go black.
