"So what's your plan?" I ask as me and Five sit on one of the couches in the waiting room.
Five shrugs.
"You don't have a plan?" I snicker. "Aren't you the smart one."
Five smiles.
"Uh, can I help you two?" A man asks.
We both stand up walking towards the man.
"I need to know who this belongs to," Five says, holding up the eye.
"Where did you get that?" The man asks.
"Why do you care?" Five says.
"We found it," I answered him. "At a playground."
"Yeah," Five agrees. "Must have just popped out," He says, clicking his tongue at the last part.
"We just want to return it to it's rightful owner," I say sweetly.
"Awe how thoughtful," A lady at the desk says.
"Yeah. Look up the name for me, will you?" Five says in a ride tone making me elbow him in his arm.
"Uh, I'm sorry, but patient records are strictly confidential. That means I can't tell you-"
"Yeah, I know what it means," Five says cutting the man off.
"Look, just give me the eye and I'll return it to it's rightful owner," The man says, reaching for the eye.
"You're not touching this eyes," Five says sternly.
"Now, you list-"
"No!" Five says grabbing the sides of the man's jacket. "You listen to me, asshole. I've come a long way for this, through some shut your pea brain couldn't even comprehend."
Resting my hand on his shoulder Five glances at me before sighing, letting go of the man's jacket.
"Just give us the information we need, and we'll leave," I say.
"Call security," The man says.
Rolling his eyes Five grabs my wrist pulling me into the elevator.
"Nice plan professor," I giggle in the elevator.
"What, did you have a better idea!" Five yells in my face.
I open my mouth to say something but as soon as the elevator doors open Five warps outside.
"Five!" I yell chasing after him.
He just keeps walking.
"Five wait," I say grabbing his wrist as he was about to open the car door, turning him towards me.
"Five it was just a joke," I smile.
"Let go," Five says yanking his hand away. "I need to save my family, since I'm the only one who cares,"
"What?" I say shocked. " You think I don't care?"
Five looks away, avoiding my eyes.
"Okay," I say as tears form in my eyes. " I just make those jokes to hide the fact that I'm terrified. Terrified that we're not going to beat this."
Five looks up at me, tears forming in his eyes. This was the first time I've seen him cry.
"And I know you're scared too," I say through tears.
Five chokes back tears. Stepping towards him I wipe off the tears on his face, pulling him into a hug as he buries his head deep into my shoulder.
