As Vanya opens the door to her apartment Five turns on the light beside him before Vanya could.

"Jesus!" She gasped.

"You should have locks on your windows," Five suggest.

"I live on the second floor," Vanya states, throwing her keys down.

"Rapists can climb," Five says calmly, almost making me laugh. But I don't.

"You're so weird Five," Vanya says, shutting the door before sitting down on the couch beside Five, as I stand beside the chair Five was in.

"Is that blood?" Vanya asks looking at Five's arm.

"It's nothing," Five says.

Feeling a little light headed I rock back and forth slowly trying not to fall. Not wanting to tell Five and Vanya I look down at my arm Five had cut, gripping it as I steadied myself.
Looking back at Vanya and Five I see that Vanya was staring at Five, tears welling up in her eyes.

"I'll put on a pot of coffee," She says.

   ~Flashback~

"Sit," Reginald says as me and the others do as we were told.

Sitting down we all start eating. Eating my food I tap my foot nervously under the table. Five had told me moments before we came down that he was going to tell his dad that he was ready to time travel.

Glancing up at Five he slams the blade of his butter knife into the table, causing me and everyone to jump.

"Number Five?" Reginald says sternly.

"Five don't," I whisper.

"I have a question," He says, ignoring me.

"Knowledge is an admirable goal, but you know the rules," His dad says. "No talking during mealtimes. You are interrupting Herr Carlson."

Five pushes his plate away from him angrily. "I want to time travel."

"No."

"But I'm ready. I've been practicing my spacel jumps, just like you said," Five says getting out of his seat jumping beside Reginald. "See."

"A spacel jump is trivial when compared with the unknowns of time travel. One is like sliding along the ice," He says. "The other is unkin to descending blindly into the depths of the freezing water and reappearing as an acorn."

"I don't get it," Five says.

"Hence the reason you're not ready," Reginald says.

Glancing at us me and Vanya both shake our heads. Hoping Five would just stop.

"I'm not afraid," Five states.

"Just leave it alone Five," I sigh to myself resting my face in my palm.

"Number Five!" Reginald yells.

Looking back I see Five running out the front door. Without thinking I stand up out of my seat running after him.

"Number eight!" Reginald yells after me.

Stumbling out the door I run after Five.

"Where are you going?" I ask.

"To prove him wrong," Five says. "Come with me."

"Five," I sigh.

He looks away sadly.

"Okay I'll come," I say.

A smile spreads across his face as he grabs my hand wrapping it in his. Next thing I knew we were what looked like a couple days ahead from now.

"Not ready my ass," Five laughs glancing over at me.

I smile as Five jumps again. Before I knew it, snow hits my face, making me giggle. Five looks at me and smiles. Gripping my hand harder Five starts to run, me following. Before I knew it the world changed around me. I fall to the ground laughing.

"You showed him Five," I giggled standing up. But he didn't answer. Looking around all the buildings were gone, and the ones that weren't were on fire.

"Five?" I say breathing heavily.

Looking around Five is nowhere to be found.

"Five," I yell stumbling back onto the floor.
