TW: panic attack

Walking up the stairs and down the hall, me and Five head towards Vanya's old room to check if she is somewhere in the academy.

Walking in me and Five see that she is not there. Letting out a quiet sigh I walk up to Vanya's desk to see if there is any possible sign that she was here. Five does the same on the other side of the room.

Lifting up a stack of musical notes I find an old picture of me and Vanya. In the picture I have my arm draped over Vanya's shoulder as we both make silly faces in the picture. Which I had taken on my old polaroid.

Picking up the picture, another one sits under it. This one is of me, Vanya, Five, and Ben. Vanya holds the polaroid over her head in a selfie position as me, Five, and Ben stand behind her. My arms draped over Five and Ben's shoulder's as we all smile at the camera.

Sitting the picture of me and Vanya down I pick up the other one. Turning around I go to show Five but the smile across my face fades as my hands begin to shake, and my breathing gets heavy. With my shaky hands the picture falls out of my hands the glass frame shattering all over the floor.

"Shit," I say loudly dropping to my knees beside the shattered glass.

"Hey, what happened?" Five asks kneeling down in front of me.

"I broke the frame," I answer gasping between each word as I try to pick up the glass with my shaky hands.

"Hey, stop," Five says softly trying to grab my wrist. But as I pick up a piece of glass it cuts a large cut down my palm.

"Goddammit," I huff, grabbing the wrist of my cut hand as I pull it close to my chest, my breathing getting even more heavier.

"Y/N?" Five says. "Y/N!"

Looking up at him, Five stares at me with worried eyes. Grabbing both my hands he pulls them away from my chest holding them in his.

"In...out," He says, calming mimicking his words as he takes in slow breaths.

Still keeping my eyes on him I do as he says. At first I struggle to take in slow breaths but after a couple of seconds my breathing settles and my hands stop shaking.

"You-what was it about this time?" He asks, still holding my hands in his as he slides past the broken glass and sits beside me.

"Today is the day the apocalypse happens," I answer.

"We're gonna stop it," He says sternly.

"I hope so," I say.

Five smiles warmly before resting his forehead on mine, his hands still holding mine. Pressing my lips together tears start to fill my eyes.

"Five... I'm scared," I say so quietly that I almost think he didn't hear me.

"I know," He says pausing for a moment. " I am too."

With our foreheads still touching I look up at Five, both our eyes meeting.

"Five can you promise me something?" I ask.

"Anything," He answers.

"If something happens to-" I try to ask before Five's lips cut me off, resting my uncut hand on the side of his face we both slowly pull away.

"Nothing's going to happen to you if I have anything to do about it. Now let's go," Five says pulling me up from off the ground.

Chuckling I look over at him disappointed. " You didn't answer my question."

"I don't want to think of you like that," He says, still not answering my question before he turns and walks out of the room.

Sighing I look back down at the picture on the floor. Healing the cut on my hand I glance back at the door, whipping the blood on my hand onto my dress. Before picking the photo off the ground folding it in half as I put it in my jacket pocket before following Five into the hall.

"No sign of Vanya," I sigh, meeting up with Five, Klaus, and Diego at the top of the stairs.

"She's not in any of the rooms," Diego says.

"She's not downstairs, either," Klaus adds.

"Well, I'm out," Diego says out of nowhere, heading towards the stairs

"Wait, what?" Me and Klaus say together.

"Where are you going?" Five asks. "Vanya's still out there, and so are Hazel and Cha-Cha."

"I know. I'm gonna get my things and then I'm outta here," Diego answers. "I got some unfinished business with those fools."

"But we have a world to save, I think…can't you just wait till after we figure all this out?" I ask softly.

"No, I can't," He answers before walking downstairs.

Watching as Diego walks away and down the steps I sigh looking over to Five who quickly takes his gaze off me turning to Klaus.

"Hey, did Dad say anything about the apocalypse when you spoke to him?" Five asks Klaus. "Any clues as to how it happened?"

"No. No clues," Klaus answers. "Truly terrific shave. But no clues."

"Jeez," Five sighs loudly as he turns and grabs my hand before heading down the stairs.
