Kostas

We charged out to the clearing and started attacking the already fighting pack. We avoided the ones who were already fighting and started attacking the ones that were just watching. As my pack fought, Caleb took Cristy into the house to search for Ira, just in case, while I scanned the area out here. The place was so full of wolves I couldn't see anything though.

Ira where are you?! Lucas howled.

We'll find her, I told him, trying to convince myself as well.

After what felt like hours of fighting and tearing throats apart, a voice rang loud and clear over all the noise that was happening around us.

"That's enough!"

Everyone stopped fighting and I looked toward the lake where the voice came from. My eyes widened as I saw a soaking wet and shivering Ira in a choke-hold from Glen with Brandon Holloway standing on the shore in front of them.

"Ira!" I shouted along with another voice and I started to run toward the shore shifting out of my wolf.

"That's far enough alphas!" Holloway shouted, raising his hand.

Glen tightened his grip and Ira whimpered. I halted and looked to my right and saw another guy standing there staring at Ira afraid. I growled at him and he looked at me and growled back. He was a alpha too. Holloway's chuckles brought our gazes to him.

"Two men in love with the same girl, ah, hormones," he said.

I growled again loudly, making Holloway freeze. I then glared at the other guy, but he was sending death glares to Holloway. Who was this guy?

"That's not it dad and you know it!" he shouted.

Dad?! This is Holloway's son?!

"I love Ira," he continued. I growled so loudly that everyone froze, including him and he raised his hands in surrender as he conintued speaking. "I love her as a sister. Just let her go!"

I growled at him, but just relieved that it was more of a sibling love, but I still didn't like him.

Holloway chuckled. "I don't think so son. She's my ticket to his defeat."

"Let her go you son-of-a-" I started.

Glen tightened his grip on Ira's throat and she gasped for air. I whimpered and took a step forward, wanting to care for her and kick that traitor's ass, but his death grip on her prevented me from doing that. She was shivering from being wet and if not warmed up soon she could catch hypothermia.

"Now listen here," Holloway continued, "I want each pack to seperate out, and I want the alphas to assemble in front."

I slowly backed up and fell into line beside the son of the man threatening my mate as a woman walked up next to me. I think it was Patty. All of our packs were seperated behind us and waited anxiously to see what would happen.

"Now shift out of your wolves."

Everyone complied.

"Very good, now...Dalton will bring you all a treaty to sign to swear your allegiance to me and place me in charge of all of your packs."

"We're not even a pack," Patty said back.

What was she doing? Did she want to die?!

"What do you mean?" Holloway asked.

"We're rogues, all with a common cause," another girl said walking forward from the pack behind Patty. They looked similar so this was either Ashley or Leah. "Still want our allegiance?"

Holloway was silent for a moment. "No."

He snapped his fingers and a gunshot was fired. The girl fell to the ground with a scream and continued to scream in pain. Holloway's son yelled and ran to her, ignoring his dad's warning. He landed on the ground beside her and placed her head on his lap as Paty tried to remove the bullet and stop the bleeding.

"You bastard!" his son yelled.

"Now Rick, is that anyway to speak to your father?" Holloway said in a sarcastic way.

"You're not my dad! You're a monster! You couldn't stop living in the past! That's why mom left you!" Rick shouted back.

Holloway looked mad now.

"One more word and I snap her neck!" he shouted, raising his arm again to Glen.

I took a helf step forward and shouted at Glen.

"Glen! Stop it! This isn't you!"

The giant didn't move as he listened to me, his eyes filled with nothing but sadness.

"Glen, my mom loves you! She thinks of you as family! As do I! You were an unofficial dad to me when mine died!"

He flinched. Good.

"We all love you! You've meant so much to us all! But we'll never forgive you if you hurt Ira even more than you are now!"

He was listening, but he was confused. He didn't know who to listen to; me or Holloway.

Suddenly, his mind was made up.

"I'm sorry-," he said before the most unexpected thing happened.

Ira

I heard all that Rick and Kostas said to Holloway and Glen. I saw my new friend fall to the ground from an unfair gunshot. I was growing angry and sad at everyone and everything. Everyone was dying because of me and I was sick of it!

"I'm sorry-" Glen started to shout, but I cut him off.

I grabbed onto him arms and dived backwards, dragging him into the cold water with me. He was caught off guard so I dragged him further out into the cold deep water. I was a very good swimmer, so pulling him along for a few seconds and going pretty far was no problem.

He started to protest, but I wrapped my arms around his neck to drag him with me and he wasn't able to go anywhere. My lungs were full of air and they wouldn't empty out for a while, but Glen's weren't. He started to kick and punch again, but it was under the cold water so they were slow.

Glen suddenly brought his elbow back and knocked me in the side of my face, making me let go of him and drift away. I opened my eyes again to the burning of the water, but I was used to it, and I saw him swim up to the surface. I swam after him, wanting some fresh air in my lungs as well.

Clank!

My head hit the ice, about three inches of it. Oh no. Glen was pounding on the snow covered cold ceiling to break it so he could breath, but he was suddenly dragged away by something that I couldn't see and I started to panic.

Shit! I'm going to die under the ice! And I was so close to Kostas too!

I started pounding less as I became tired and my chest started to burn. There was an intense burning and stinging in my leg, but I didn't feel it yet I knew it was there. I felt myself sinking in the water away from the ice and down to the mud.

This is how I die. I didn't even get to tell Kostas how much I loved him. I didn't get to find my dad either. I just found Rick and made new friends with Ashley and Patty, and now I never get to see them again.

The darkness of death closed around my eyes and I could no longer feel anything. Not pain or coldness.
