Kostas

"What?!" I screamed.

"It's definitely wolfbane, and she reeks of it," Angelina said, holding her nose.

"Get it out of her!" Arty shouted.

"We can't! It's already spreading everywhere!" Bert shouted back.

"It won't kill her!" Angelina said over our screaming. Everyone shut up and looked at her. "She's human, not wolf. The most it would do to her is probably make her sick, like the flu. Alright?"

I nodded as tears fell down my face. I walked over to Ira and held her hand. Suddenly Angelina grabbed my shoulders and spun me around.

"What?!"

"You smell like it too," she said. She looked at the others. "You all do!"

Our faces paled. Were infected too? How?!

"Their claws," Caleb whispered. I nodded. Their claws must've had it.

"You all need to come with me," Angelina said, pulling me toward the door.

I growled. "No! I'm not leaving Ira!"

"If you don't get that shit out of you then you'll die!"

I was silent. "Don't you dare die! You're all I have left." Those words floated in my mind since Ira said them.

"You're no good to her dead," Cristy carefully said. She didn't look very good, but that was from the blood.

I nodded and kissed Ira's hand before I walked out of the room. I'm going to be the first thing she sees when she wakes up. With that thought in mind, I allowed Angelina to start the process of removing wolfbane from my body.

_____

Ira

My head throbbed and my leg twitched. What the hell happened to me? I remember Kostas running and then...

"Kostas!" I shouted, snapping my eyes open.

Pain ensued me everywhere. I screamed out and felt hands grab my shoulders and another pair of hands hold down my leg. I couldn't hear anything but ringing and I screamed more as the pain intensified.

"Ira!" a faint voice screamed.

The ringing was fading and I heard feet running around as well as my screaming. I was lying on a cold metal table in a white and light blue room with no windows. Was this an operating room? Why? The pain then reminded me why.

"Kostas!" someone screamed.

Why were they calling for him? He wasn't here with me already? Why not?! He didn't get hurt did he? Was he doing something more important?

My eyes darted around the room and I saw computer monitors with medical things on them as well as IVs and needles. I screamed again as pain bolted through my leg and up my spine. It was like liquid fire!

I arched my back and started to thrash my arms, but someone held them down. This was too much! It was too painful!

"Ira!" a voice yelled.

My eyes refused to look over at the door, but I saw Kostas' face appear above me. I didn't smile though, despite how much I wanted to, instead I screamed again and he looked afraid.

He shouted something to someone but I didn't see who it was. Suddenly I felt something poke my arm and then I saw Kostas whirl around to the door and growl. What was happening?!

Seconds later, another poke was in my arm and I looked over, expecting to see a doctor, but instead I saw a grimy man with a terrifying smile standing beside me.

"Hello beautiful," he said in a hoarse voice.

I screamed again and was picked up, but then darkness surrounded me.

Cristy

Once Angelina took everyone else away to give them medicine, I was alone in the room with my unconscious best friend who was bleeding. I wandered over to her and held her hand and I started crying.

"You better heal up fast," I cried. "If you don't I won't go to college with you."

"College?" Caleb asked from the doorway.

I turned to him and gave a small smile.

"You need to go take the medicine," I said, leaving Ira and going to Caleb.

"They took Kostas in first and then the others. I was the least injured out of them all," he explain, wrapping me in a hug.

I smiled. We enjoyed the moment.

But that moment quickly ended as a scream and bark and howl rang through the building. Caleb shoved me behind him and growled as a wolf rounded the corner. But the scream came from behind me.

I spun around and saw Ira screaming and thrashing around. I ran to her and pushed her shoulders down to keep her still. Why was she awake now?! Her eyes were open, but they didn't really seem to see anything.

"Ira!" I yelled. She didn't respond. "Caleb! Help me!"

He ran over and held down her legs and she screamed again in pain. Bad move Caleb. I let go of Ira and ran to the door.

"Kostas!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. He better have heard that or else...

Suddenly Kostas ran around the corner, his wounds almost healed and he burst into the room. He ran over to my screaming best friend and looked terrified. He suddenly turned to me and shouted, "Make sure no one's coming!"

I nodded and then turned back to the door in time to see a wolf rushing to me. I yelled and then was shoved back into the wall. Kostas and Caleb both growled as other wolves entered in too. My vision was beginning to blur, and Ira screamed again as a man in dark clothing stuck her with a needle. My vision turned dark as I saw the man pick her up and Kostas fight against the two men that already knocked Caleb down.

Don't mess with my friend, I thought before the darkness took me.
