Kostas
"Ira!" I shouted as she went under the water, taking Glen with her.
I ran forward, ignoring what would happen to me and I ran straight to Holloway, who looked too surprised to do anything about me. I half changed into my wolf, letting Lucas forth and he clawed Holloway in half, tearing out his throat and then ripping him apart. Hell followed after me, the other packs going after Holloway's followers.
Get in the water! Lucas screamed. Find her!
I nodded and dove into the water, joined by my faithful black wolf beta. The water was freezing cold but I didn't care. I was a werewolf and had a lot of heat, but Ira was only human, meaning she could easily freeze.
My eyes were burning under the water, but I had to find her. Damn, why did she have to be such a fast swimmer?!
"Over there!" Caleb said in his full wolf form.
I saw straight ahead of me Glen pounding on the ice and Ira beginning to sink.
No!
Caleb bit Glen and crashed into the ice as he stumbled onto the surface thrashing around with the traitor in his mouth. I swam down, kicking with all my might to grab my mate before she landed on the the bottom of the lake. Her eyes were closed and she wasn't moving.
Don't be dead! Please don't be dead!
I reached for her hand and grabbed it and then I pulled her close to me. I would never let her go now. I swam up to the ice and swam along it until I came to the hole that Caleb made. I burst from the water and gulped in the cold air and I climbed into the surface. I pulled Ira next to me and just hugged her cold body while Caleb and Troy cleared the area around me.
My eyes snapped open and I immediately hovered above an unconscious Ira.
"No, no, no!" I screamed, placing my hand on her cheek.
No warmth.
I moved my finger to her wrist to search for a pulse and I found none. My heart beat quickened. I quickly brought my fingers to her neck and searched for a pulse there. Nothing. My breathing hitched and I couldn't get enough air.
"Ira!" Cristy yelled and started running towards us.
Caleb grabbed her by her waist and held her back as I growled at her.
"Let me go!" she protested, but Caleb refused.
I placed my head onto her chest and listened carefully for any sign of a heart beat. I heard nothing and hot tears began to pour down my face. She can't be gone! She can't leave me now! I didn't even tell her how much I loved her!
Thump.
I froze. What...was...
Thump.
I looked up to her face from where my head rested on her chest. Her eyes twitched. My tears stopped and I just stared at my mate.
Cold! She's cold! That's why she's not moving! Lucas screamed at me.
I quickly scooped her up and started rubbing her arms and legs to warm her cup. Cristy knew what I was doing and broke away from Caleb. She slid on her knees and landed next to me. She took her jacket off and wrapped her friend in it, which I was thankful for.
Her eyes moved behind her eyelids and my heart beat faster, thankful that she was alive. Cristy started to pull her friend out of my arms, and I allowed it, but I'd want her back soon.
Man, I sounded like a child.
Cristy started crying joyful tears and I wondered why, but then I looked down at her arms and saw a frowning Ira wide wake.
_____
Ira
I started feeling warmer and wondered why. Wasn't I supposed to die? I don't think I was breathing. Was I still under the ice? What happened?
I started feeling less numb and felt movement. Was I at my burial?! Was I being tossed into the ground? I was going to kill Cristy for me being buried at such a young age!
I heard some sobbing. Maybe God was happy to see me. Suddenly my eyes snapped opened and I saw a crying face in front of me. It wasn't God.
"I must've died and gone to hell," I quietly stated, frowning at the smiling silhouette in front of me.
Cristy started laughing and crying even more. Suddenly I was snatched away from her and in the warm, safe, protective arms of Kostas. I smiled at his teary face.
"Actually, I think I'm in heaven," I quietly said.
"Oh thank god!" Kostas cried, pulling me up and wrapping me in a large hug. I slowly hugged him back, starting to feel a little in my arms. "I thought you were dead!"
I laughed and pulled back a bit, looking into his shining eye. "You can't get rid of me that easily."
He laughed and pulled me close to him again, hugging tightly. I was so happy that I started crying myself. Thank God I wasn't dead, because I had something important to say to the guy I loved.
"Kostas," I said, feeling some strength returning.
"Hmm?"
"I love you."
He tensed a bit, and he then slowly pulled back to look me in the eys. He looked surprised.
"I love you more than anything else," I said.
He smiled. "I love you more."
He crushed me in another hug and I was feeling so warm that I thought the ice below us was going to melt.
"Just don't do anything like that again."
I laughed, but I agreed.
