Ira
"Are you alright?" Mrs. Willemsen asked me, basically running out of her classroom. "The students were saying that-"
She stopped talking as she saw Kostas beside me. She stared at him very surprised and then she looked at me with wide eyes. I looked at her oddly and then I looked at Kostas for some help.
"Mine," Kostas growled, holding my arm.
Mrs. Willemsen's eyes grew wider. "You...you two?...You're both...mates?"
I looked at her weirdly now. "How did you know that?"
"She's a rogue," Kostas said deeply.
She nodded.
"You're...a...werewolf too?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yes, but I have no pack and just want to live in peace! I have no alpha, but I promise you," she said to Kostas, "that I have absolutely no intention of hurting Ira."
Kostas looked doubtful.
"I trust her completely," I said to him.
He looked at me and then nodded. I hugged him again, thankful that I could still be in contact with my teacher.
She escorted us into the room and everyone looked up as I entered and then they snickered at me. I looked down in embarrassment and then walked over to my desk in the middle of the room. Kostas was about to follow me but Mrs. Willemsen stopped him and cleared her throat.
"Class, this is my nephew, Kostas. He will spend today in our class, so be nice to him, alright?"
I looked around the room and saw all the girls staring admiringly at him, and felt a pang of jealously hit me. Why were they staring at him?
"There's an empty desk over there," Mrs. Willemsen said, pointing to the desk in front of me.
Kostas nodded to her and he sat down in the desk, but he smiled at me before he faced the front of the classroom. Mrs. Willemsen started handing out the test packets and Kostas leaned over to the girl beside him and she looked ready to die of excitement. She was one of the girls who always made fun of me.
"Excuse me, do you have a pencil I could use?" Kostas asked her.
What?! Did he not see all the pencils I had with me?! I shook my head. Calm down, are you really going to freak out over a pencil?
"Um, no, but I have a pen!" she said, rummaging through her small pouch and pulling out a blue pen.
She was about to hand it to him when he shook his head and laughed. I raised an eyebrow at him even though he couldn't see it. What was so funny?
"What kind of idiot uses a pen for a test?" Kostas said, turning away from her and looking at me.
I gave an awkward small smile and handed him the pencil that was in my hand. He smiled a thank you and turned around as he was handed a test.
The girl stared jaw open at him while her friends chuckled a bit.
"Makenna, eyes in your own test, and you need a pencil," Mrs. Willemsen said, handing me a packet.
She angrily threw the pen back into the bag and then turned to me with angry eyes.
"Hey," she started. "Can I borrow a pencil?"
I smiled sarcastically at her. "Sorry, don't have any more."
She let out a frustrated huff. Kostas looked at me and smiled over his shoulder and I smiled back. Now, back to the test.
