(still Sirius’ POV)
"Moon! Moony, where are you? Please Moony, give me a chance to explain. What you saw, wasn't what you think it was!" I spoke loudly, trying to find him.
Nothing.
Eventually, I headed towards the common room, to see if I could find him there. I ran up the stairs, straight into our dorm.
I looked over, and saw his bed, with the curtains fully closed over it. I walked over slowly, and pulled the curtain back.
I stepped back in pure shock. He was tangled up in his blanket, his hair a mess. His face was soaked with tears, and his eyes and nose were red and puffy, obviously from crying.
Then, I saw blood. I looked around for the source of it, and my eyes stopped at his arm. There was a deep scratch, almost as if an animal had clawed him...or if he had done it himself. He was a mess..
He looked up at me, and I backed up a little bit. The look he gave me sent chills down my body. He looked as if he could murder me right here, right now. He had a horrifying look, his face soaked with tears and sweat. His eyes were now glowing a faint yellow, as if the anger had brought out his werewolf form. He was growling lowly, but also...wimpering.
"Moony...please calm down. Give me a chance to explain. Just breathe, okay? Deep breaths, mate. It's alright."
I sat down next to him slowly, placing my hand on his arm. He tensed up a bit, but managed to calm down enough to let me explain.
"Moony...whatever you saw, wasn't what you think it was. It's my fault, I kissed her. And I shouldn't have. I was just talking about my feelings, and then it just happened...but she didn't kiss back, Moony. She pushed me away." I said softly, trying not to trigger him again.
"Remus John Lupin, that girl loves you. You're all she thinks about. Not me, not anyone. Just you. That's what she was telling me before I stupidly kissed her. It was a mistake. She's my best friend, and so are you. I only want what's best for the both of you. And I'm sorry that I got in the way of that. You two need each other. She needs you more than anything. And now she thinks this is her fault, but it's really mine."
Remus’ expression softened, and he sighed sadly. His eyes had reverted back to their normal color, and his breathing had slowed back to its normal pace. He laid back in the bed, panting, and sweating. "I'm sorry, Padfoot.." he said sadly.
I looked out him, forcing out a sad smile.
"Don't be. You have no reason to be. Now, why don't you go shower and freshen up, and I'll bandage that scratch for you. Then we can go see her, and you can talk to her. And you can give her the present." I said, smiling warmly.
He looked up at me with worry in his eyes. "The present...I dropped the basket when I ran out of the room. Fuck." he said, panicking.
I walked over to the other side of the dorm, and pulled something out from under my bed. "Not a problem. I picked up right before I came looking for you. Nothing's broken, and it still looks perfect. She's so lucky to have you, Moony." I said, placing the basket on his bed. He smiled at me, with hope in his eyes once more.
"Thank you, Padfoot. For everything. I'm so glad to have you, mate." he said, and then headed off to the bathroom to shower.
I sighed and flopped down into my bed, burying my face in my pillow. "Bloody hell, Padfoot. You almost ruined everything. Just learn self control. They're both to it best friends, and (y/n) is your pranking buddy. No need to ruin everything and lose them both, now." I whispered to myself.
I closed my eyes and began to drift off, deciding to take a quick nap until Remus was ready.
