nightmares.

*Remus' POV from morning*

I woke up with (y/n) curled up in my arms. I jumped up in confusion and shock. I had no clue what happened last night or how we got here, but I freaked out. I didn't want to get up at first, because she looked so peaceful while she was sleeping. She's beautiful.

I knew we needed to get up though, before someone found us. Plus, we weren't exactly clothed... because, you know, when you turn into a werewolf, your clothes don't exactly stay on. All I had on was a blanket around my waist, and she had my robe on, because it was huge on her.

*time skip*

We successfully made it back to the common room without anyone seeing us. We were both so tired, sore, and out of breath. (Y/n) walked over to the couch and sat down, sighing loudly. I went over and sat next to her, throwing my bag down next to the couch.

Then I heard footsteps running down the stairs. It was Sirius, James, and Lily. Oh, Merlin.

I groaned as they came sprinting down the stairs, all of them speaking at once. I was so tired and drained, I wasn't in the mood for their bullshit right now. But, I listened anyways, knowing they wouldn't shut it until I answered their questions.

After almost 20 minutes of them bombarding us with questions and teasing us, (y/n) looked fed up with them. She yawned loudly, burying her face in the pillow. I looked at her, and she looked up at me, then laid down, putting her head in my lap.

I froze, and felt my face turn red again. The other three had left already, so we could get some sleep, but they teased us saying we "needed our privacy." They think they're funny.

I lifted my arm around (y/n), and rubbed her back until she drifted off to sleep, so peacefully. Eventually, I drifted off as well, snuggled up with her.

*a couple hours later*

All of a sudden, I woke up to (y/n) tossing and turning, tears streaming down her face. She was sobbing, and started saying "Help me! Please..I don't want to anymore! I'm a monster!" and things of that sort.

She was having a nightmare. I held on to her, trying to shake her awake, as she was screaming and crying. Then she started to dig at her skin, trying to hurt herself. I panicked, and kept trying to wake her up.

"(Y/n)! Wake up, it's me! It's Remus.. I'm here, please wake up..." She slowed down, and finally woke up, sitting up quickly. She immediately held onto me, sobbing, and burying her face into my chest. "Hey, you're safe now. I've got you." I said, pulling her back, and cupping her face in my hands.

She looked into my eyes, and I wiped the tears from her face. She looked defeated. I felt horrible. "Do you have nightmares often?" I asked quietly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

She nodded, and I looked at her sadly. I didn't want her to feel this way..like I used to feel. I used to have nightmares every night..until one day they stopped. The day she walked into my life, actually. I can't explain it, it just happened. I didn't want her to keep hurting herself like this, though. I looked at her once more, taking my hands off her face.

Then, she kissed me. I didn't expect at all, but I kissed back immediately, closing all the space between us. We kissed for what seemed like forever, but it was only a few seconds. She pulled away, with a small smile on her face. "Thank you, Rem. For everything." she whispered quietly. She reached for my hand, and squeezed it softly, lying back down next to me.

She's never called me that before..it made my heart skip a beat.

Oh Merlin, this girl is going to be the death of me. I'm crazy for her. Why does she make it so hard not to like her? She's perfect for me.
