JIA

"Mira!" Jia cheered upon seeing her cousin on her doorstep.

"Jia! I love what you've done with your hair! You look 10x prettier since we last met!" Mira said, hugging her cousin tight. She placed her bag at the side and fell on the couch pulling Jia with her. "Now tell me all the juicy stuff happening in your life."

Jia laughed at how persistent her cousin was in knowing what was happening to her. Her once jet black hair had blue highlights now which suited her. Her hair was tied in a messy bun so Jia couldn't really tell how long it had grown.

"Okay fine but don't ever tell Ahra what I am about to tell you." Jia said.

Mira raised an eyebrow. "You're keeping secrets from her now?"

"You'll understand once I tell you." Jia said.

"Wait I have practice today. Tell it all in the car." Mira said, pulling her luggage to the guest room and changing her clothes.

Jia nods and waits patiently for her cousin to dress up. She figured she should get out of her pajamas and change into proper clothes. Mira finally finished dressing up and she sees her cousin wearing a sweater paired with her jeans.

"Jia let's go!" Mira said and Jia stands up, wearing her shoes and leaving the house, locking the door behind her. She walked towards her car while playing with the keys in her finger. "I still am not used to seeing your hair brown."

"And I'm still not used to your blue highlights." Jia fired back, opening the door to her car.

"Let's stop by Serendipity Cafe. I miss that cafe." Mira said and Jia nods. She suddenly remembered what happened yesterday and felt her cheeks heat up. "Why are you blushing?"

"N-Nothing." She stuttered and finally starting the car. She drove off to the cafe with her telling Mira everything that has been happening to her.

"That's pretty much the gist." Jia shrugged.

"You dumbass! Why would you do that to yourself?!" Mira yelled in disbelief. "I know Ahra doesn't know about your adoration but I actually thought you would've told her by now."

"Well things happen." Jia scoffed. "And what's so wrong with what I did?! They're happy now!"

Mira groaned. "Are you perfectly fine with staying in the sidelines?"

Jia parked her car in front of the cafe and turned off the engine. She glanced at Mira who was taking her seatbelt off. "If I wasn't fine with it, why did I even agree at the first place?"

The two of them got out of the car and Mira crossed her arms while looking at her. "Even if you'd have to watch them get married?"

Jia stopped right there. "I think... I'll be fine. That's far from the future. Maybe by then, I would've found someone to call my own."

Mira sighed and opened the door for the two. The two of them went in line to order hot coffee. "I still can't believe he guessed your favorite cake. What are the odds right?"

"Yeah what are the odds?" Jia frowned. "If only he bought me a cheesecake or something my heart shouldn't have been filled with this much hope."

"Haven't you taken it to account that there might be a slight chance he'll like you back?" Mira asked. "Come on, Jia. You're one of the prettiest girls I know. You're even prettier than before! You're practically an angel!"

"Have you never met Ahra?" Jia frowned.

"All I'm saying is, have you never taken it to account that him liking you back is a possibility?" Mira said and Jia shook her head as a response to her question.
