JIA

"Jia!" Sunghoon whined, sitting right in front of Jia watching her finish the homework due yesterday that she did not get to pass because of the competition. "Are you finished?"

She snickers, softly hitting him in the head with her pen. "I'm done. Let me just pass this."

Sunghoon has been waiting for her just so they could go to the mall already and watch the movie. As requested, she left her car back in her house and took the bus earlier. The weather was incredibly nice so the ride didn't really ruin her mood.

The two walked together in the hallways towards the teacher's office where she handed over the paper. They were congratulated by the teachers for the awards they had achieved the previous day, Jia and Sunghoon said their thank you before exiting the room. Jia lets out a sigh of relief since she had successfully passed her missing outputs.

"Finally we can go! I thought we were going to miss the next schedule." Sunghoon says also letting out a sigh of relief.

She snorted. "You really want to watch this movie huh? I didn't know you like sad movies."

He didn't answer her and instead kept walking, reaching the parking lot and approaching his car. She fought the urge to let out a sarcastic remark since it took him that long to bring his car and stop carpooling with his friends. He didn't even bring a car on his date with Ahra.

He opened the door for her and she sat comfortably in front. He sat at the driver's seat, started the engine and swerved his way out of the parking lot. Jia opened her phone trying to preoccupy herself with something instead of sitting in silence with Sunghoon.

She noticed Sunghoon turning on the radio to play music, probably to get rid of the silent atmosphere surrounding them. A sad tune played in the background and Jia held her laughter as it did not fit the ambience.

"Why are you laughing? Are you losing your sanity, Yoon Jia?" He asked. Jia let's out the laughter that wanted to exit her lips earlier.

"I'm sorry! Why is the music like that? It's like we're attending a funeral." Jia laughed.

Sunghoon chuckled. "Find a better music then! You complained!"

Jia calmed herself down and tried to search for a better music instead of the one that was already playing that was seriously so sad. When she found a better song to play, she smirks arrogantly at Sunghoon almost like bragging that her music taste was a lot better than his.

"There you go, now it doesn't feel like we're in a funeral." Jia announced.

He let's out a cough. "You're a bit too late, the mall is within our sight already."

"At least you can listen to good music while we're still not there." Jia said before leaning on the window. She watched the people cross the roads who minded only their own lives and problems just to distract herself.

Sunghoon parked his car at the basement and Jia grabbed her bag before getting out of the car. He didn't seem to carry anything and just took his wallet and phone from his bag. She wished the life of a girl was that easy.

While they were walking, Jia glanced at Sunghoon and asked him. "When is the movie going to start?"

"According to my research, in about thirty minutes if we don't speed up." He answered, looking at his watch. "Shall we run?"

She laughed. "I don't think the cinemas is that far from the basement. After all, we live in the twenty-first century we have this thing called an elevator."
