JIA

"What do you mean you're taking the car? I have a competition." Jia said, after hearing her mother would take her car.

Her mother sighs. "I know but I need to get to work.  Let me give you a lift. You can just take the bus when you get home."

Jia didn't argue any further. She knew if she did her mother would be angry at her. Her parents sure did pick the right time to argue. She really didn't want to take the bus, that's why she got a bit angry when her mother said she was going to use it.

She sat at the back and refused to speak. There wasn't anything to speak about anyway and all she should just focus about is the upcoming competition.

The only time she opened her mouth is when she tells her mother where it was being held. When they had arrived at the venue her mother said good luck.

"Thanks." She replied and made her way inside the building. She and Heeseung are supposed to meet at the spot where they're going to announce the students' designated rooms.

When she had met Heeseung the two shared a smile before waiting together since only the two of them knew each other in this whole building.

"Nervous?" He asked but she shook her head. She wasn't really that nervous, she just stuck in her mind that what she'll be doing was a normal math exam and it didn't mean anything except it really did and she was just trying to keep her composure.

When they were finally assigned a room, they separated and went to each other's classroom. Jia had sat there playing with her pen while the people around her seemed to be memorizing stuff. She wondered if she should also pretend to memorize although she was half sure she knew most of the formulas already.

Once the supervisor arrived at the classroom, he gave out the test papers and Jia began to answer it. The questions were somehow easy for her but due to her lack of trust in herself, she would have to recheck over and over again until she was sure.

The test lasted for two hours and when she had finally finish, she sighed in relief and massaged her nape for keeping up with the two hours. She met with Heeseung who stood outside probably waiting for his ride.

"So how was the test?" Jia asked, starting a conversation.

"Surprisingly easy. How about you?" He asked.

"Same." She said and he chuckled. She grabbed her phone from her pocket and called Ahra to ask if she could pick Jia up. The girl answered immediately and greeted her friend.

"Hi Jia! What's up? How was the competition?" Ahra asked, all in one breath.

"The competition was fine. Are you free today or are you busy with something?" Jia asked.

"Nope my schedule is blank. Why?" Ahra responded.

Jia sighed. "Can you pick me up? Mom took my car."

It didn't take a while for Ahra to agree to her request. "Of course! Send location I'll be there!"

"Thanks Ahra, you're the best!" Jia said, dropping the call and sending her the address. A car came to pick Heeseung up and she waved at him.

She was left in front of the building alone. The students who shared a classroom with her kept glancing at her, making her slightly uncomfortable. Luckily, Ahra finally arrived with her car. Jia opened the door at the front and enjoyed the soft feeling in her back.
