I was beginning to think there was no one at Ludie's house or he was just really ready to ignore me. Finally someone opened up for me screaming at the gateman who was unavailable. I recognized the girl's voice which pierced my very soul. I turned to leave as soon as I could before she was done opening the gate but it was too late.
'Lucie!' I found words to put in my mouth.
'You.' She too exclaimed. Lucie cleared her throat. 'So are you gonna leave or what?'
'Actually, I'm here to see Ludie, Lucie.' I said. I never thought I would call Ludie and Lucie's name in the same sentence. The names sounded alike.
        'Not today.'
'I swear it won't take long and I won't tell anybody.' I said.
        'Tell anybody what?'
        'That...that...you guys are like...a thing.'
         'Gross. No!'
Then why was she in his house?
'Just come in.' She said. I followed carefully entering the sitting room to avoid bumping into anything that was supposed to be hidden.
I waited a while after Lucie went into a room arguing with who I could tell was Ludie. They both came out after that. Shut the fuck door! I shook my head to make sure it was not one of my hallucinations. I think I was all good when I could see that Ludie and Lucie looked so much alike!
I suddenly felt light-headed. I also wanted to scream but I did not scream or faint.
'I told you not to come unannounced.' Ludie said shaking his head. I pointed my finger at them.
      'You...you...you guys are...' I stammered.
'Fix your friend!' Lucie told Ludie.
'You're sib.. siblings__no...not that...twins!' I was completely shocked and I did not believe it!
'Yay! You got something so obvious!' Lucie said rolling her eyes.
                  ********
I slumped into Ludie's sofa still shocked by this new discovery, how could twins that look so alike could have been kept secret for so long.
Either they were so smart or the world was so stupid.
'Stop acting like it's a big deal.' Ludie said sitting beside me.
'It's such a big deal. First of all, you guys look crazy alike! For an opposite gender twins...wow.'
'But we don't tell people.' Ludie said sadly. I calmed down afterwards.
       'Ludie I'm sorry.' I said.
'It's alright. I should apologize to you.'
'No, you shouldn't. No...not to me. To Caldwell.'
'Alright. Anything for you.' Ludie said looking deep into my eyes.
            'No Ludie__'
'I get it. I know we're done. In fact we never happened. No stress.' Ludie said with a smile. He was easy.
'So tomorrow...em... group's like back... so at my place.' I said.
'Yeah. About me and Lucie. It's no big deal.'
'It is! You can't keep your relationship a secret because she's ashamed of you.'
       'I don't care about that.'
'You__you should.' I said. I thought of something. 'Why is she a grade ahead of you?'
'I had to repeat a grade.' Ludie said.
'Wow.' I had an idea. 'Wanna get back at her for this?' I whispered even though I knew Lucie had left the house.
Ludie looked at me suspiciously. 'No...but I'm open to anything you want.'
'Okay. Do you know what she's wearing to school tomorrow?' I asked mischievously. Oh! I felt evil.
'It's in her room. She has it prepared early.' Ludie said.
We both found a way into her room and saw the kind of clothes she was going to put on tomorrow. That girl has style!
'Got anything like it?' I asked. Ludie laughed.
'Anna we don't have matching outfits as such.' Ludie said.
'Then put on matching colours and if you've got the same brand!' I could tell Ludie was getting in on my idea.
Ludie was able to get an outfit that looked like the male version of Lucie's.
'Hair?' I remembered. It would be easy to style their hair same because of Ludie's long blonde hair like his sister's! It felt weird calling Lucie, Ludie's sister.
'Obviously she's tying her hair in a bun. The outfit?' Even though I had no idea what Ludie was talking about, I nodded.
I felt so excited with this plan that would commence tomorrow. It would be great! Ludie saw me off to his gate.
        'Once again, I'm sorry Ludie.'
'It's alright.' Ludie said then tried to kiss me. No way I was going to let that happen again! I withdrew from him.
'Ludie no. I... I...I should be off. Bye.' I said rushing off
                     *********
I liked Nate. Why? He was so easy. Not everyday you would see a guy who agrees to get back in a group for chocolate and an interview with your elder brother. Andre owed me a lot for all the time we were missing with each other. Soon I was out of Nate's house. Next off was Caldwell's house and I went with so much excitement but when I got to his street I could not go to his house. You can call it cowardice, chickening out, shame...but I could not do it. I could not go to the house of my ex who's mother told me was in love with me. Whose mother could be sitting in there with him, with his girlfriend!
Dina could probably be toasting to how lucky he was to be dumped by a nerd to be taken by an angel made human.
