When Nora was done showering and left the bathroom to go find her room, her long black roots still dripping wet, she was surprised to see Adeline still in the same spot she left her. Her wavy red hair covered most of her face but the other visible half was completely blank in expression. The only thing she did was to stare down at her phone.

"What has got you staring like that?" She asked, which made her friend look up now.

As Adeline saw her entering the room with only a yellow towel hugging her slim figure she almost flinched in shock waking her from her trance. Yet you could see none of it in her posture, still too deep in thought.

"You remember Dylan, right?"

"Oof, yea, why?" She asked concerned and made her way to Adeline.

"Look!" Adeline showed her the image that she stumbled over.

"He'll probably come tonight..." She added concerned.

Dylan was someone she had a friends with benefits relationship with over a year ago. They met at the Cafe she had loved and spend her Thursday afternoons at, the one near Sainsbury's with the big red doors in her neighborhood, that made her feel at ease. And he was nice, just her type, good in bed and had the ability to make her smile with just a few words. Dylan really had the power to make people believe he was perfect.

Once in a while he would even stay the night and they would just talk until the sun came up and he had to leave. Both of them were just fine with their relation, not seeking an emotional relationship at the time. The only problem with him was his pretentious side that is probably to blame for the shit he talked about her.

During one of her late night talks they discovered that their friend groups kind of overlapped with him knowing George briefly, who eventually broke the news to her then. What he said had hurt her deeply, even if they weren't a couple, she still liked to believe he had a soft spot for her.

"Oh my god, well we will just avoid him and he'll regret how he treated you with how gorgeous you look. That simple." Nora stated, picking out her dress for the night. She picked an at every edge low cut dark red one that looked beautiful on her caramel skin.

"I mean we weren't even a couple, it was more of a fling, nothing serious."

"Oh but he still could have pretended he is a decent human being! Look I'll blow dry my hair real quick and put my dress on. Can you order an uber for us?"

"Sure." Adeline answered disappointed, not too convinced this was going to be a good night. Perhaps she could live through it without even having to face him.

"Oh and pack my makeup in a bag! Gonna do it in the cab!"

"Ok." She sighed heavily, but Nora probably didn't even hear her, the hair dryer being too loud.

The uber took 15 minutes to get to the venue in the heart of the city, the traffic not as bad as they expected. All while Nora did her makeup, letting the red lip color paint her lips. Her eventual makeup look, looked like the kind Adeline would apply on even ground.

As they got out of the car, that let them out at the official parking lot for the venue, they just then realized how big this whole gathering is going to be. They were 25 minutes late and the whole area in front of the building was still crowded with fancy people. The sun set and put a beautiful pink shimmer was all over the city and one could feel that London spring was in full bloom now.
