Adeline's POV

After Adam dropped me off at home, I entered our apartment, closed the door and took a long breath. Was this real? Was this my life? My reality?

When I pinched myself, I knew it must have been. And still couldn't believe it. The rush, the tingle on my lips just like when they would meet a sparkly liquid. It was almost too overwhelming. Similar to the feel of your very first kiss.

I couldn't believe this was a feeling I tried to avoid when we first met. But this night made me realize that life is too short, too beautiful to get it ruled by fear. And although that awesome feeling in my chest still had the upper hand, a tiny bit of panic still came with it.

Trying my best to stay floating in my world of pink lakes, I grabbed a glass of wine that I drank up while taking off my make up and getting ready for bed. Nora wasn't home yet, but she sent a text stating she was okay and that I shouldn't wait for her.

So I went to bed in my comfiest sweater to protect me from the cold that still lingered around the night and fell to sleep peacefully.

The next morning I woke up from my phone vibrating on my side table. I blindly stretched my right arm out to the left to grab it and slowly opened my eyes. And when the bright light of my device illuminated my face, way too intense for my liking, I noticed it wasn't my alarm clock.

When I could make out Adams contact, I flinched for a second -why the fuck would he be calling me at 6 am?

I clicked on take and my mood lifted immediately when I heard his sweet raspy morning voice.

"Morning, love!"

I only groaned heavily, not able to articulate myself in the middle of the night, still way too tired.

"I'm sorry, is now not good?" He asked.

"Well, you already woke me now. So just say what you want to say! -at 6 in the morning."

"Not a morning person are you?"

I groaned again. I've heard him laugh on the other line.

"Well, if you're up to it..I wondered if you want to go out and get breakfast with me? I know this place which has got amazing pancakes. And I kinda know you're day is packed again so I called early."

"Better than drunk..." I answered jokingly.

"Enough now, woman!"

Now firstly sitting up in bed, I tried to come to my senses but already grinned widely.

"...but yeah, sure I'd like that!"

"Great, great! I'll pick you up in 15!"

"Wait what-" I tried to say but he already hang up. Wouldn't he be so cute, I would call him rude. But I got too excited too quickly to get mad. I got out of bed and put on a casual navy pullover and a black pair of jeans, still too tired to put in an effort, even if it was him. And soon enough the doorbell rang and I went down.

"Morning!" Adam exclaimed after I left the house and the heavy door closed. His hair was still a bit tousled but his bright blue eyes made up for it. I liked the way he dressed, I noticed. Not only now but all the times we met. This morning he wore a long blue coat and a black beanie. His cheeks were a bit red from the cold but I got too distracted by his wide smile.

"Morning!" I answered happily. And before I knew he leaned over and kissed my cheek. The butterflies erupting all over again.

"So, that place I told you about, is right down the street...do you know it?" Adam asked and we began walking before I even had time to answer.
