The best thing about Rebecca was her easy nature. She didn't care about much in their relationship, rather than a few things that could be easily fulfilled.

The first thing was that Rebecca wanted to see Adam happy...so much it was almost as if she couldn't stand his despair. Occasionally he'd get in his head and appear as if in a state of sadness when he was around her, which was the place her care came from. And that was nothing bad, if he was, she'd cheer him up or whisper meaningless phrases in his ear until he'd laugh again. The bad thing was that he could never tell her the reason for it and it'd irritate her some days.

She also wanted to sleep with him every night and he didn't mind that at all. He loved her body, her smell, the way she reacted when he pushed her buttons...

And once in a while she'd try to talk him into shopping, saying his wardrobe is "lame" but that was about it.

Adeline was much different in many aspects, their relationship was deeper, but he didn't want to think about her or some kind of sorrow would grace over his face like it did the day before. While he tries desperately to not think of the event it would always find a place in his mind anyway. He wondered if the evening made her just as sad. But every time he did, he remembered that it'd be his fault and would try to find a way to escape that string of thoughts.

They spent the day by the poolside as it was another thriving hot day on the end of June now. She wanted to go out later in the night too. But for now, her dark brown hair was up in a bun, a red and revealing bikini was adorning her perfect body and they played catch while having a fit of laughter. He'd swim to the edge of the pool as soon as possible and catch her soon enough by the strap of her bikini.

"Hey! Stop! Stop, that one was expensive." Rebecca Said not too seriously still laughing.

"We'll time it's coming off then right?"

Adeline has been sitting on the train to the Bristol now for almost an hour and still couldn't stop bouncing her knee up and down nervously. She texted with her mum for a quite a bit on the ride.

It's just a job interview, what's the worst that could happen?

You're going go rock it, love! And then we'll be reunited again :)

Adeline appreciated her being so supportive but she probably only put her hopes up for something that was bound to fail.

Thompson Enterprises was a big marketing company searching for a new press officer. And while she didn't think she had a good chance, it was the only company out of 14 to that date that answered and actually invited her to an interview. She had thought about George's concerns about moving back but couldn't find a point about it she wouldn't like. She was excited even along her doubts and welcomed the fresh air of her home town. Her room at her flat got too crowded with depressive thoughts floating around, she needed out. And she wanted out the second the second she saw Adams new girl. Who was a beautiful French model. The kind of girl she knew he liked, the kind that wasn't her and it took her right back to the night they first met. I don't care you're not a model. Liar.

Nora tried her best to comfort her that certain evening, her shirt drenched in tears at the end of the night. She felt so pathetic thinking she'd still have a place somewhere in his heart. And with everyone knowing their story, they would think she's weak and judge her reaction. It was on her.

Adeline got off the train and quickly spotted her parents waiting for her at the platform. They looked happy and hugged her daughter.

"Come on honey, we'll drive you home and make sure you have something in your gut." Her mum said and took her suitcase.

Over lunch at her parent's house, they talked for some time and she couldn't help but notice how much they liked the idea of her moving back there.

"London is way too crowded anyway, I'd be happy to have my baby back here." Leslie said.

"Whatever will happen, we'll stand behind you darling."

"Thanks dad." Adeline said.

An hour later she unpacked her stuff and dressed professionally, wanting to make a good impression. She wore a white shirt and a plaid blazer along with black slacks. Her hair was up in a twirled bun and her mum hugged her a last time before she stepped into her father's car to drive there.

"You look very professional, darling! Good luck okay?"

"Remember what I told you and you'll be perfectly fine, right?"

"Yes dad. Thanks."

Show them you're the solution to all of their problems.

Adeline parked the back Volkswagen near the building of Thompson Enterprises. It was a nice district, lots of parks and little cafes in between big blue glass buildings like this one was. She went to the reception and then from the elevator up to the 5th story to get to the office room. Everyone looked very professional, the offices were small and stark. It was much different from her work at Bennet Publishes. The girl knew she was early so she sat down in front of the office she knew the boss was seated in. Adeline knew everything about that company, she was prepared for every question there might be coming and still couldn't help her nerves.

Rebecca wanted to eat Italian so Adam recommended a restaurant someone in Cannes hat told him about.

It was exquisite, the ambience, the way she looked, the food and the nice little moans she'd make when she put another spoonful or tagliatelle in her mouth. Seemingly everything was great but his mood. He couldn't really say what it was, it was just not a good night. And while at first Rebecca seemed more than satisfied her mood gradually changed along with his.

"Why are you upset, Cheri?" She asked with a thick French accent.

"I'm not, I'm good, really." God he really couldn't probably speak about anything. But then again, he didn't know his grumpiness was so obvious or did he know the reason for it himself. I mean, he might have an idea, but she couldn't tell her. She was the antidote.

"But you don't seem to be too happy. What's wrong?"

"I don't know." He said, looking at his plate.

"We'll if you don't tell me I can't change it" and while one could think she might sound upset now she sounded just as sweet.

"Can't I just be not good for a second?" He snapped at her.

"Okay."
