Adam was having a bit of a downfall. Perhaps it was the consistent boredom he faced in his newly won free time, that made him feel so rough on this Monday morning. A time on which everyone else already had appeared to their 9 to 5 job, that made them hate this particular day and left him to himself. Because with the majority of his friends exactly that was the case. Hence, for him there was not much to do from Monday's to Thursday's which made him love Friday's just as much as people with a "normal" job. Friday's meant good company other than the occasional drink he would nurse at unholy hours during the week.

Just like the glass of Bourbon Whiskey that sat on his bedside table which was illuminated by the sun shining right trough the caramel-colored liquor he occasionally sipped on while watching a movie he absolutely didn't care about. And yes, it was before noon and he only ate some cereals today but life is short, he thought. His attire told a complete opposite story, only consisting of a dark grey shirt and a pair of boxers. Just as he was about to reach for his glass again, the calendar by his bedside reminded him it's been three days since he last seen her. Which he suddenly found to be the perfect amount of time to call her again like right now, or three sips later...

An actual glass later, the credits of the movie rolled down and with the time passing he found a growing sense of optimism in his nature. Adam happily jumped up from his bed, stumbling only a little and opened his contact list in oder to call her. Just then he remembered that he didn't even have her number. Fuck. Whatsoever, Jimmy must have it! Knowing, he is much more likely to answer to an e-mail in a shorter amount of time than a phone call during the work days, he started writing away:

Hey mate!! Need Adeline's number :) :) NOw!!

Well, his sober brain would perhaps been able to get something a little more cohesive done but as long as it does the job, he though and sent it to his friend. And he took way too long to answer in his opinion. Even if not only 5 minutes later he got a reply in which he received her phone number and a typical scowling from his friend. In which Jimmy expressed his concerns about Adam's state at the moment and the wish to not call her when drunk. Ok, the e-mail gave it away but he wasn't all that drunk. Adam was actually absolutely convinced that he would still pass every alcohol test there was. And he was eager, so eager to hear her voice again. So, he went right away and started calling her. Now his nervousness was rising a little bit higher with every beep that could be heard. The fifth one did it, though.

"Uhm, hello?" her sweet voice went right to his heart.

"Hellooo, love!" he called out, clearly over the moon and not at all aware of the slur in his voice.

"Sorry, but who is there?" she asked, clearly confused and he felt dumbfounded, swearing lightly under his breath.

"Uhm it's Adam, we met last Friday?" Fuck, would she even remember? The line was silent for a second so for some reason he felt the need to add:
"You rejected me, when I asked you out! And I am calling you to change your mind!"

"Yeah, yeah of course I remember but...are you drunk?" She asked, looking at clock in the corner of her laptop at work 12:03 AM. That's only the time for Catherine's first coffee. And she found it to be funny, that he has to ask if she remembered him, because of course she did. But even funnier that he even called after her little stunt. She should've been the one calling. He sounded so cute to her, that she decided, she could make an exception and have a private call for once at work. Even if he was not at all the master of his senses at the moment, she silently was over the moon that he called.

"Nooot at all! So have I changed your mind already?" He asked as if he was a five years old, begging her mom for ice cream.

"Well first of all I'm pretty sure you are -at this early hour, which is impressive. And secondly you didn't yet but like...are you save, is there someone with you?" Adeline was just caring in nature, no matter what kind of history she'd have with someone. It was curse and blessing at the same time.

"Nah I'm alone, but you should come over and take care of me, Addy!! I'm sure I can impress you some more." He wiggled his eyebrows just as suggestively as his words left his mouth, absolutely convinced he got her now. And she just sat on her desk at work, head in her hands while cringing at the nickname and all in all his past ten words.

"Look, first of all don't call me that!"

"Alright ma'm!" He blurted out, which made her laugh.

"And I don't even know how you got my number but I really can't take you serious at the moment. So would you promise me to not drink anymore of- whatever you had and not do anything stupid?" She hoped, he will just say yes. Ok, he was a cute and fun drunk -seemingly but work and uni was filling her schedule to the brim today as well as the work party she had to appear to tonight. It just wasn't right to have to deal with a drunk Holly-Wood actor. When obviously this conversation was going nowhere. Cuteness one way or the other.

"Can't promise anything, love" He answered sheepishly, a smug grin on his lips.

"Then you leave me no choice but to go to my charming boss and tell him to drive over to yours to check up on you since, he gave you my number, didn't he?"

"Wait no, not necessary as long as it is not you, don't want to face a greasy old man right now who would just be mad at me."

"You are aware that Jimmy is my boss, right? I'll talk to him now, ok, see you!"

"Wait-" It was too late, she already hung up, leaving him sad. Only her "See you!" would linger in his mind in a happy manner. "See you!", he whispered.
