Tiny specks of sparkly green particles we're left upon a colorful array of flowers as a tiny creature zoomed through the air.
At first glance you could disregard the small flying critter for a bug.
But upon closer inspection one would be able to identify blonde curls on top of it's head instead of antennae, and tiny hands instead of arthropod legs.
For the small insect fluttering through the air was no insect at all, but a young fairy on his way home.

He wore a simple tunic made out of thinner threads and fibers human hands could ever weave.
Within his arms he clutched a basket filled to the brim with little berries, mushrooms and miscellaneous objects the boy had stumbled upon whilst foraging.
His wings, which we're flapping rapidly against the gentle summer breeze, looked almost identical to those of a dragonfly, if it weren't for the intricate pattern that was visible upon them.
This glowing pattern on their wings is actually the only visible part of the stream of magic that runs through a fairy's body.
And this little fae's magic was thrumming excitedly, for with every passing second it drew nearer to it's counterpart.

"I'm home!"

The door swung open as the boy entered their shared home, tucked away inside of an old birchwood tree.

"Kai?"

Now where could his housemate have gone? Lloyd set down the basket he'd been holding and darted through the house whilst checking all of Kai's favorite hiding spots.
Could he have found a new one? The fairy wondered as he dashed through the door and ran along the birch branches that led up to the treetops.
Lloyd jumped onto the thick branch and peered down upon the grassy plains that surrounded his home.
At first all he saw was wild flowers and zooming bugs, but then he spotted a small herd of wild hamsters getting pampered by a butterfly winged fairy.

"Kai!"

Lloyd yelled out, as he leaped of the wood and used his wings to gently glide down.
The orange fairy turned in surprise and quickly crawled behind the nearest hamster.
"Oh no you don't Kai! I see you!"
"No you don't!"
Kai whisper yelled from behind the fluffy rodent and buried his face deeper into the white fur when he saw Lloyd's face look down on him with exasperation.
"Sweetheart you're supposed to take it easy right now with that leg of yours."
Lloyd sat down and ran his hand through his partner's brown hair.
"I understand that it's hard to stay up in the tree all day, but I know that you know better than to put strain on an injury Kai. So why'd you come down?"
"I- I just needed to do something. I tried relaxing, I really tried, but the whole time my body was just itching to get up and move, and- and then I saw that the herd had returned from grazing and I couldn't resist, I had to pet them!"
Lloyd sighed as he lifted Kai's head.
"Now that is a very good excuse. Hamster petting is urgent business after all, but if you pull something like this again I'll make you clean out the coal bin."
Kai gasped in horror.
"You wouldn't!"
"Oh I would darling."
"Just because I walked around with a little scratch?"
"Excuse me, you fell off of a gekko because you wanted to show off some dumb trick-"
"Hey! You said it looked cool."
"-and somehow you got your leg trapped underneath a rock, and instead of waiting for me to get down to you-"
"Oh come on you we're taking forever!"
"-you yank your leg out from underneath that rock and fracture the bone!"
"It wasn't that bad!"
Kai exclaimed throwing his hands into the air.
"Oh no of course, mr strong handsome man doesn't feel pain. When I got down there and you started yelling about how you'd never taste my corn bread again, no that was just because you didn't like corn."
"Listen-"
"Oh Lloyd, please tell Jay that It's my fault he lost his limited edition volume of Batman, I burned it on accident- "
Lloyd started mocking Kai's voice when Kai pulled him down into the snowy fur and started tickling the poor fairy.
