Lloyd

Lloyd

"Lloyd?"

Lloyd opened his eyes, but winced and immediately closed them again.
It was so bright.
"Ah Lloyd! Are you awake?"
Lloyd dared to open his eyes again and squinted up at a glowing figure- Kai!
Lloyd shot up and hugged his fire-y companion who yelped in surprise.
"Kai you're okay! We're okay!" Lloyd cried with relief as he squeezed Kai tightly. "Does that mean you did it? Did you defeat the Kamairha and the Olgron?"
"Wow calm down man." Kai pulled away. "You're going to undo your bandage."

Bandage.

Oh yeah the Kamairha had bitten him.

"Ah." Lloyd tried tying the bandage tight again. "Ow."
"Stop it dummy." Kai smacked Lloyd's hand away and began to gently tie the bandage.
"I'm a green kaladin, healing is my specialty, I can tie a bandage myself." Lloyd protested.

"I know you can, but you used a bunch of power so your magic and mind are probably pretty disoriented and shaken up." Kai finished tying the bandage. "I hope you find that a good enough reason to let me tie it."
Lloyd smiles. "I guess it's a good-ish reason."
"Good-ish? I think you'll find it's a wonderfully reasonable reason." Kai grins and both the boys start giggling because of the relief washing over them.
They were okay.

"Oh gosh." Lloyd runs a hand through his hair. "But answer my question. Did you defeat the Olgron and the Kamairha?"
"Oh I incinerated their asses." Kai answers proudly.
"Geez Kai. You're proud of murder?" Lloyd looks concerned.
"What no!" Kai defends himself. "I'm proud of saving us from getting hurt and sold."
"Ah, of course, sorry." Lloyd takes Kai's hand in his. "Thank you for saving me, you were very brave."

Oh Izrel, it felt like Kai was going to explode.
This guy was too damn kind and pretty and argh-!
"Ah, it was no problem." Kai stutters as he pulls his hand away in front of his face to try and hide his his reddened cheeks. "I guess now we're even."
Both boys grinned at each other until Lloyd ruined the moment by gasping.

"My bag! Do you know where it is?"
Lloyd frantically looks around.
"I have no idea." Kai looks around as well. "Why? What's so important about your bag?"
"The reason I came to this forest was to gather the ingredients I need to cure my dad." Lloyd answers somberly. "I have every ingredient except 20 purple lilacs and I'd put a bunch of them in my bag."
"Okay. Hold on, stay right here, your bag can't be too far." Kai says as he stands up and disappears into the wild and tangled trees to go search for the bag.
"Okay. Be careful!" Lloyd calls after him.
He hoped Kai wouldn't find any trouble.
Man his head hurt.
Oh well. It wasn't every day you infused your magic into somebody else's.
Lloyd had never even heard of anyone achieving such a thing.
Was his magic alright?

He removed his glove and tried summoning some energy to grow a flower, but instead of the usual steady and calm flow he was used to, his magic felt hesitant and weak.
Lloyd frowned as he lifted his un injured arm higher.
Slowly a tiny flower rose from the earth.
Loyd urged the little plant to grow leaves and spread it's petals but his magic wavered.
This left the fragile flower without any energy for a split second and it began to fade.
Lloyd quickly urged his magic into the flower again, but his magic faltered and the little flower withered away.

Was this normal?

He'd never been drained before so he had no idea if his weakened magic was unusual.
Damn.
Lloyd wiped at his eyes.
This was pathetic.
He couldn't even grow a flower.
He tried to blink back his tears and attempted to put on his coat.
But that only ended in a painful shoulder and a frustrated Lloyd.
He tightly gripped his collar and shut his eyes.
