the day was dark, gloomy with the pregnant clouds that's stormed down droplets that never seemed to end. eternity is what this thunderstorm felt to be. the sea was unforgiving with rapid waves tumbling down aggressively against each other. sore little feet stumbled in attempt to walk against the pains of sharp rocks, before collapsing in exhausting. rest is what the little boy needed so desperately, but even with his tired state he still managed to open those eyes to peer at the the other little boy. his energy was comforting, as well as the embrace he held onto. the hug and words assuring his safety felt like being enveloped in a warm blanket. he felt safe in this boys arms, never wanting him to let go and have this new feeling flow through him. a friendship flourished between the mysterious boy who washed up on the rocks and the raven haired boy who he wanted to comfort. this mysterious boy was never understood by those around him, his teachers believed he was a problem child and many other students in his classes despised him. yet this boy not care, he solely wanted to protect the boy who saved him from bully's and those who intended to hurt him. he never wanted anyone to hurt his only friend, and it seemed he would never warm up to anyone else. this boy also had a gift, the gift of great intelligence. ahead of his class, many had envied his intense knowledge. every subject he was able to grasp so easily. but not every gift is a blessing. sin was in his subconscious behind his intelligence yet it had not been awaken at his young state. akira had asked him so many questions and ryo easily answered them, still akira would still tilt his little head at the large and textual words and facts the rolled off ryo's tongue. even when he mentioned the rabbit in the moon, ryo easily debunked this myth explaining the atmospheres and elevations of the moon's beautiful surface. akira, full of childhood innocence said that the two needed to save the poor bunny rabbit in the moon. he still loved ryo, even if ryo never believed in that sort of thing, akira was fine as long as he had his best friend beside him forever. though forever did not last as long as akira hoped. with ryo's intelligence he was being sent away to the states to pursue a higher level of education for his age. as he took the red head woman's hand he looked back at akira, the little boy sadly waved good bye with tears steaming down his chubby cheeks. ryo just stared, expression blank but his eyes told a different story. there were no tears but a shine of sadness.

will i see him again?

is what ryo thought in his head. blinking he pondered as he was being hauled into the car.

ryo promised himself to come back to akira. it didn't matter when, it could be a year, 10, years, even 20 years from now. but he vowed that no matter what or when, he will be back beside akira.

ryo was the one who protected akira from any bullies from school. yes ryo was small and frail but he miraculously was able to take down three bullies bigger than him when they stole akira's shoes. even akira was amazed about ryo's strength but ryo would never dare to lay a finger on akira. he protected him as much as he could, but now who would protect akira?

this day in his elementary class seemed to be gloomy. the sky showed signs of incoming rain but what was semi bright was at the new child attending his class. though, still upset at ryo's departure, akira sadly looked down at his hands in his lap from the introduction of the new student. it wasn't until free time akira had decided to use the bathroom outside. it was in a semi secluded area, a bit farther away from his classroom. as he made his way he was stopped by the bullies that ryo took down, they noticed ryo's departure to and wanted to take advantage.
