A partner spending more time in front of the screen rather than their loved one is quite concerning. Tired eyes and a stiffened neck were constantly in front of the blinding white light of the computer until moonlight had decided to cascade her blanket of comfort. The blanket meant to sleep. Though the only blanket covering your fiance, Ryo Asuka, was the one draped around his shoulders to keep himself warm in the cold nights. Refusing to rest the eyes that forever held a burning sensation to them.
It is true that he was an aloof man. Private and quiet, but not a cheater. The text on his computer were not ones containing an affair, another man or woman was not what he was typing for. It was constant projects and papers he needed to attend to. Not once would he dare to think of another person, he already had so much in front of him at his fingertips as well as beside him. You.
Rubbing the sunken eyes with his lanky fingers, Ryo takes just a second to breathe. More like a sigh rather than a moment of calmness. Mind clouding with whatever ideas he could come up with to better the ideas, to keep his high position that many envied. He looks over to you, asleep facing him.
Soft lips parted whilst he noticed the way you quietly snored. You'd already complained that he was overworking himself and needed time to rest. Those few four hours were not nearly enough for someone to function properly, perhaps going mad with sleep deprivation.
Though Ryo was an odd man, his record for staying awake was an estimated three days, only sleeping two hours after that.
Just once would you like him to take a break for the workload he willingly put himself through. He was diligent at all costs.
Heavy eyes cascaded against the bright screen in front of him. Ryo noticed how the brightness also attacked your face, remembering when you mentioned if he could try to keep the light dim he manually set the brightness down. Looking at his notes and the presentation he was supposed to give a speech for by the end of the week. The clock struck 3:47 in the morning. Perhaps now would be a good time to retire.
He set the laptop by the nightstand and laid back, practically sinking into the covers before closing his eyes. Taking one final glance at you sleeping beside him before morning light kissed the sky. Grand news of Ryo's presentation being a success had traveled to your ears. Happy and proud of your partner with his industrious work paying off. He knew he would do well as that's all he ever does.
Of course Ryo celebrated meeting his goal, but he knew the cycle of it being short lived before starting onto the next project. Though for one of the few times in his life he was surprised that the cooperation had given him a vacation time. A well deserved break since everything was finally calm like an evening tide. No issues, standards met and well succeeded. But for once the man was dumbfounded. What was he supposed to do? He could try and come up with solo projects to keep his hands busy, but you saw this as an opportunity for him to finally get the well deserved rest and preventable carpal tunnel. "Can't you sit still for just a second?" You asked Ryo, who got home not too long ago, whilst his leg was bouncing in a sort of uncomfortable fidget.
