IRENE:

I ended up leaving early from school saying that I wasn't feeling well. And I wasn't. I have lost count of the number of riddles that appeared before me and I just couldn't stop finding answers. Stupid me. It doesn't settle well with me if there is a question I don't know the answer to. So, I kept thinking of answers of every riddle that appeared before me. It made me go crazy. Right now I'm headed back home before my head explodes because of the fucking riddles!

I crash on the couch as soon as I enter my living room. There is no house help at this time since there is usually no one home. I feel happy that the home is deserted. I honestly happen to like it much more this way. Only my parents and me, those days are the happiest. But those days are rare. My mother is an attorney she is always busy with cases. My father is well the owner of the largest group of hotels in the world so its no wonder he is hardly home. That is why we have an array of house help. My parents don't want me alone at the house or don't want me having any kind of difficulty in their absence. But don't they realise its never going to be the same when they are not with me.

My thoughts are interrupted with the sound of the doorbell. I go up and open the door. An old man with long white beard, brilliant blue eyes and half moon spectacles is standing in front of me awaiting the permission to enter. He is wearing some kind of weird long dress. He politely asks, "May I enter miss pierce?"

Many people wouldn't let this man in but one look at him and I know there is absolutely nothing to worry about him, and my instincts are always right so I step aside and make way for him to enter. "You have a beautiful house may I add" he says.

"thank you very much" I answer.

"Would you like me to get you something before you explain to me as to why you are here?"

"some tea would be nice" he smiled

"Yeah sure. I'll get you some".

"That won't be necessary miss Pierce"

"Huh?"

He removed a long-carved stick and flicked it, immediately there was a teapot, two sets of cup and saucer and cookies that smelled delicious placed in front of me.

"HOW DID YOU JUST DO THAT? THAT'S SO FREAKING COOL"

"Its simply magic Miss Pierce, quite easy for ones that are born with it."

I looked baffled.

"I don't understand... and if this is some sick trick I swear to you I-

"These are no tricks Miss Pierce and I wouldn't lie to you. You can have my word on that. Give me some time to explain please".

My expression softened and I gestured for him to go ahead. He took a sip of tea from the cup and let out a long sigh.

"I'm a wizard Miss Pierce. That means-

"You can perform magic. Yeah I know that. I um.. play a lot of games. But they don't exist. I'm not a fool you should have come up with a better story."

"Oh, but this isn't a story Miss Pierce you have to believe me."

I look at his blue eyes and know that he isn't lying. There is no other way to explain how he just flicks his wand is it? And conjures anything he wishes.

"There is an altogether different world of magic Miss Pierce and it is fascinating to know that it existed here all this time just around you. Why I'am here right now telling you all this is because you are a part of that world Miss Pierce. You are a witch."
